You do not have the option of downloading Windows 7 SP1 when you use Windows Update to check for updates

Also try to download the Sp1 from the Downloadcenter and run it.
If the Sp1 Installer fails to install the Sp1, please run the Windows Explorer and go to the folder "C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\" and copy all files to your document folder, also copy the setupapi.dev.log from the folder C:\Windows\Inf, the "C:\Windows\WindowsUpdate.log" and the file "C:\Windows\winsxs\poqexec.log" to your document folder (otherwise you can't upload it), zip all files into 1 ZIP and upload the zip to medoafire.com and post a link here.
Thanks, I guess I found the problem,
Check whether you have Intel integrated graphics driver Igdkmd32.sys or Igdkmd64.sys and whether you upgraded the driverWindows 7 SP1 will not appear in Windows Update if update 2454826 is not installed. Windows Update will not offer you update KB2454826 if you are using one of the following Intel integrated graphics drivers:
Igdkmd32.sys (32-bit), versions 8.15.10.2104 through 8.15.10.2141
Igdkmd64.sys (64-bit), versions 8.15.10.2104 through 8.15.10.2141
These drivers are known to cause problems with certain applications that use D2D (Direct2D). For example, if you use these drivers together with Windows Live Mail under certain circumstances, Windows Live Mail could crash.
Mine is running version 8.15.10.2141, and sony haven't provided a newest version
EDIT: It doesn't show on Sony update, but they have uploaded a newest version into their site, going to try it!

Well, I got a Sony Vaio from the S series that came with Windows 7 professional installed but I can't install the SP1 on it... any ideas why? It doesn't even show on the Windows Update.

I know that I might be asking way too much... but I don't have enough time (as I wish I had) to test and find out with components I should remove/keep... So if u guys could give me some help.
Here is a list of what my family uses my computer for.
- Emule, LimeWire ,uTorrent
- Counter-Strike, Warcraft 3, WoW
- Burning DVD/CD (Nero, DVD Shrink)
- Microsoft Office
- Internet Explorer/Firefox/Chrome
- Windows Live Messenger
- Xampp (To host sites, DB)
- Music, Video
- Win Rar, Photoshop, Adobe Reader, Dev-C++, Internet Download Manager, Kaspersky
- I always download the latest Video Card, Printer, Sound and Lan drives
if u guys could help me to make a list of what I should remove and of what I MUSTN'T remove.. I would be so glad... and btw if u guys need any more info just let me know

If I edit my Windows Server 2008 using vLite will I it break the "add future" on my windows?, cuz i want to add some stuffs like the windows aero theme, if yes, is there any other way to add the Windows aero theme?

I "made" my windows a few days ago and I was testing, and while I was doing that I got some errors while I was doing that I got some problems when I was trying to connect to the Emule, I might have removed a stuff that is necessary for that, do you guys have any idea which component I need to connect to the Emule? OBS: The rest of the internet is working…

It is kind of strange, because after the installation both languages works perfectly, the only problem is that your windows original language won't work during the installation, you will need to set any other of the languages as the default.

Ooo I see, but haha now I am kind of confused... What is your ansewer for "Can I remove Task Scheduler? I’ve never used that before", Ty for helping me, I just don't want to do any stupid s*** as I am noob with vLite.
BUG REPORT
My original windows was using the language Portuguese, but I decided to install the English language pack, so I download it, but while I was testing the new iso, right after the iso boot I got a msg saying that was not possible to load the language (default language was set as Portuguese) so I went to the vlite and changed the default language to English and it worked, after the installation I was able to set it to Portuguese without any problem, but I was not able to remove it.

If I am going to use Microsoft Office Outlook 2007 can I remove the Windows Mail or no?
If I remove MSN Installer will I be able to download it and install the Windows Live Messenger?
Can I remove Task Scheduler? I’ve never used that before.
Can I remove Microsoft Agent? Or windows need it?

And here is a picture of some other components, is there any other one that is useless but I still want my windows to be sable, i know that if you remove some stuffs, like windows firewall, you can get some problems.

There's nothing wrong with that picture unless I'm missing something.
On the original windows i have one like this one.
Enable the Aero appearance perhaps?
I assume you removed that component which enables it by default, so you'll have to do it manually.
Hmm to make a test I didn't remove any component of the Window, but it didn’t work, even without removing the component Windows Aero Theme I was not able to select it on the themes list, if you check picture one, you are going to see that there is no Windows Aero Theme in there and I didn’t remove it from the components.

Cloaky, that is right. And it would be best to set VMWare to use IDE drives and remove LSI Logic.
Can you plz tell me how i do that, i went to the hard drive options but i was not able to find it and ty for the help. I can just set it to IDE if i am using a Windows Xp Workstation not on a Vista Workstation.... and just to know: can u plz tem me the dif of IDE and SCSI.

Cloaky, keep the one that your real motherboard uses. See which chipset it is and keep that brand.
Hmm, can you just see if i am right, i am using a Asus Mamixus Formula http://www.asus.com/products.aspx?modelmen...l3=572&l4=0 so i need just to keep the intel drive and the LSI Logic (VMware).

[Q] How do i prevent ppl from saving files on a directory?

Basically, what i wanna do is, just allow ppl to save any kind of file on the personal folder and desktop. Also, how can i prevent them from installing any kind of software?
