  1. the cd would work on all the computers. it is just a basic ghost boot disc that i modified. i use it mostly to wipe drives and put the ghost boot partition it does everything automatically which is nice. i wanted to see if there is any way to not have to do anything but just restart the computer and press f8 and then it would drop the restore image that i have on the second partition. i didnt want to add a new entry into the boot.ini or anything because students might accidentally wipe their drive. i dont really have a problem with throwing in a cd into all the computers but i just thought there might be a easier way to do it. i also have the cd do everything automatically which does speed things up a bit. but now i wont to try and see if i can get ghostwalker to run also after the image is dropped. i hope i was able to clarify what i was trying to do. thanks for the speedy reply. merry xmas everybody!!!
  2. im not sure what would be the best place to post this. i figured if it is in the wrong place somebody will let me know. ok here goes. i have been working on creating a ghost restore image. it took a little bit of experimenting but i was able to get it all to work. i just created two partitions and but the ghost images on one and had xp on the other one. it is fairly basic i know. but i built it for a bunch of Dell GX110s. i then edited the ghost boot cd that i made to drop the image off the second partition onto the first. it does it automatically to and i even was able to make the computer eject the cd when it was done. creating that boot disk was quite a adventure. took some intense researching and trial and error to finally get the perfect syntax. ok now to the reason why im here. my question is is there a way to edit the f8 boot menu to let me run the batch file that runs ghost and drops the image. the cd works fine but i just dont really feel like making 20 cds for the whole class room. the cd iso is only like 3mb so it is really just a waste of bunch of cds. i have been doing some research on this but it is sometimes hard to find info on something this specific. so i thought i would put it out there here because i knew that there were a ton of very knowledgeable people here. i swear im not trying to butter you all up. i just thought that it would be really cool if i could run the batch file with just a few key strokes. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks!!
