Since a month or two back, my sound volume starts to fluctuate from high to low and vice versa. I've not messed with it or anything. This happens whenever I play games, listen to music, and watch dvd's. When I first got the computer it didn't do this but all of a sudden this is happening. My computer is a dell dimension 8300 with soundblaster audigy. Please someone help. Thank You

I took that test at pcpitstop.com and it said to defrag my hard drive. I did that last night and the computer is still slow on login. Is it safe to take out power reg scheduler v3 from the startup? Cftmon.exe is still running even though I clicked it off from startup using msconfig. How do I make it stop running? By the way I really appreciated all the help. Thanks alot people.

Okay, my computer is a month old, its a Dell 8300 Dimension P4 running windows xp. The processor is 3GHz with 512 MB of ram. We have 4 users who lock their accounts. We had Kazaa for a little while until I deleted it. I ran Spybot S&D and Adaware to try to get the spyware off the computer. There was a virus that mcafee caught, it was some low risk worm. I bought vcom fix it utilities to try to clean the registry. The computer still runs slow when we try to login to each of our accounts. What could the problem be???? Right now the computer has no viruses and I try to run adaware, spybot, and mcafee every night. I also did the msconfig to uncheck some things to try to speed startup, but it is still starting slow. Please Help. We dont know much about computer software. Thank You
