  1. thanx gosh for ur kind advice. Actually i am facing more problems after i tried what u suggested. I am unable to open secpol.msc from the run command option. also i dont see any option of Local Security Policy shortcut in Control Panel's Administrative Tools folder as well. When i right click to network places, i dont see any menu, nothing happens. I cant open the tools>folder options as well. But i see my user as admin rights. I read somewhere that If you do not see the Network Setup Wizard link or the Share this folder on the network check box, your computer probably has Simple File Sharing disabled. This is a common change made to computers used for business. In fact, it happens automatically when a computer joins an Active Directory domain. but i have no idea to resolve my issue. Any help wud be well appreciated.
  2. I am using win Xp sp-2 home edition on a new laptop i got but i am having some problems with the network setup wizard. Any help would be really appreciated. Its working fine overall but when i start the network setup wizard to configure a new network for my settings, it gives me an error saying 'your user account does not have adequate permissions to set up a home or small office network.' (my user has admin rights). I tried creating a new user with admin rights but still i get the same error. I tired shutting off the firewall as well but still it doesnt work. I have been unable to figure out the problem so far. Pls let me know what i can do to solve this issue.
