I recently did a system restore on my HP system and after installing all the applications I use, I'm noticing that the Foxmarks extension in Firefox isn't remembering my password even though I checking the box to Remember Password and also Yahoo Messenger isn't remembering the password. Please advise me what may be the cause and what can be done to resolve this annoyance?

I have a Service Pack currently installed, however, I am not sure what version it is. How do I find this out? Do I need to uninstall it before installing the current RTM build? I tried installing IE 8 beta 1, but I get a message stating: "The installation does not support your operating system's current Service Pack version." When I right-click Computer and select properties it says I have Service Pack 1, v.688.

I've downloaded the ISO version but was wondering if I could use a program like MagicISO to install it or do I need to burn it to a cd/dvd? Is it suppose to be 2.87GB in size?

Any recommendations for a PSU?

In my system specs the following is stated: Expansion slots Slot type Quantity PCI One (None available) PCI Express x16 One (None available) PCI Express x1 Two (One available) Am I safe to assume that my current video card is using the PCI Express x16 slot as it says I have one but it's unavailable? The release of the Radeon HD 3870 x2 has peaked my interest, but being that the card is somewhat larger would my case now be a problem getting this card to fit? If I can keep my current board and case I can keep my costs down to just the price of whichever video card and a power supply capable of running the following: Intel C2Q6600 DVD Burner 2x320GB HDs Media Card Reader 24" Monitor Current Video Card nVideo 8400GS, but changing to one of the following if current board and case can handle it: Radeon HD 3870 Radeon HD 3870 x2 GeForce 8800GT

I've been debating on which card to upgrade to as I do play games, however, playing with the current card doesn't make playing games that enjoyable most of the time as graphics have to be lowered to min specs. I've been stuck between the Radeon 3870 512mb and the nVidia 8800GT 512mb.

I have an HP Pavilion Elite m9040n and my cousin has a Dell XPS720. Our system specs are different as follows: I have a 24" vs his 22" monitor I have 2x320GB HDs vs his 250GB HD We both have a C2Q6600 @ 2.4GHz I have 3GB of 667MHz Ram vs his 4GB of 800MHz Ram I have an nVidia 8400GS 256MB vs his nVidia 8800GT 512MB So, does his few deviations in hardware make a difference of my 3.5 rating vs his 5.3 rating?

Would that be enough to run either a Radeon 3870 or GeForce 8800GT? If not, which PS would you recommend? Do I need 2 PCI Express x16 slots to run CrossFire or SLI as I noticed my motherboard only has the one PCI Express x16 slot? I do however, have 2 PCI Express x1 slots.

I'm looking at upgrading the video card that came with my pc - GeForce 8400GS as it struggles to run most games. Here's a link to the hardware specs of my pc... HP Pavilion Elite m9040n. I'm looking to upgrade to a SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 3870 512MB. It doesn't show the PS wattage so unless someone else that has this type of pc knows which PS comes with it I would have to call HP or open the case to know whether or not I would have to upgrade the PS. What would be the recommended wattage of a PS if I were to upgrade based on my current pc specs?

Is it telling me that I need to grant the System account Full Control permissions to the C:\Windows\Installer\ folder? If so, I tried looking for the Installer folder and did not find it under the Windows folder. EDIT: I did a search for the Installer folder using the built-in search in the Start Menu and found the Installer folder. Do I right click the Installer folder, highlight SYSTEM, click Edit and then check the Full Control box?

When trying to install something I get an error that reads as follows... Internal Error 2203, C:\Windows\Installer\404fc32.msi, -2147287008 How can I resolve this issue?

I uninstalled it and I keep getting the message: Loading Alcohol device drivers failed! Emulation options and native driver interface of Alcohol 120% will not be available! I re-installed and went into SafeMode and tried uninstalling and still the message persists. Please tell me what I need to do to rid my pc of this plague.

I've been wanting a new pc and debated whether to buy online or locally depending if I cam across something I felt was a deal. Well, last weekend while out and about I found my way to a Best Buy where I ended up walking out with an HP Pavillion Elite m9040n with a 24" HP monitor, Linksys WRT54G Wireless Router and Adapter card and also a Geek Squad battery backup/UPS for a total of $2127. I went to the HP website and configured the HP Pavilion Elite m9000t customizable TV PC GN637AV#ABA * – Genuine Windows Vista Home Premium (32-bit) * – Intel® Core 2 Quad processor Q6600 (2.4GHz) * – 3GB DDR2-667MHz dual channel SDRAM (2x1024,2x512) * – 512MB NVIDIA GeForce 8600GT, TV-out, DVI-I, HDMI * – 802.11 b/g USB Wireless LAN card & USB external modem * – 500GB 7200 rpm SATA 3Gb/s hard drive * – Blu-ray / HD DVD player & Lightscribe SuperMulti DVD burner * – 15-in-1 memory card reader, 2 USB, 1394, video, audio * – ATSC-NTSC TV tuner with PVR, FM tuner, remote * – Integrated 7.1 channel sound w/front audio ports * – Norton Internet Security 2007 - 15 Months * – Microsoft® Works 8.0 * – Logitech X-230 2.1 Speakers * – HP multimedia keyboard and HP optical mouse * – HP Home & Home Office Store in-box envelope * – HP w2207 22-inch Widescreen Flat-Panel Monitor - Total was around $2300 w/shipping I believe as site went down at time of writing this. Going this route brings me here because for one I would be paying more, but some noticeable changes would be seen/felt/made from what I'm now using. The following would change: Go from 256MB NVIDIA GeForce 8400GS to 512MB NVIDIA GeForce 8600GT > Positive Go from 2x320GB 7200 rpm SATA 3Gb/s hard drive to 500GB 7200 rpm SATA 3Gb/s hard drive > Negative Go from Lightscribe SuperMulti DVD burner to Blu-ray / HD DVD player & Lightscribe SuperMulti DVD burner > Positive Go from Built-in Monitor Speakers to Logitech X-230 2.1 Speakers > Positive Go from HP Wireless Multimedia keyboard & optical mouse to HP multimedia keyboard and HP optical mouse > Positive Go from HP w2408 24-inch Widescreen Flat-Panel Monitor to HP w2207 22-inch Widescreen Flat-Panel Monitor > Negative I like the pc very much, games run ok, but can't turn everything up I have to pick and choose, it has a nice look and runs great, my only gripe is the wireless keyboard and mouse as I keep having disconnect issues and I got told it may be a battery issue as its the batteries that came with it and also the built-in monitor speakers are a waste of money in creating the monitor, they should of just offered 2 little speakers or something as this to me provides a source for sound but don't expect any loudness as it sounds like you are hearing through a headset. Should I have taken a little more time and patience and built one myself online and gotten more bang for my buck? Please tell me what you think I should do here if it was your money based on did I get a decent deal for my money or should I go another route?

Can PHP make my life easier?
c0nt3nd3r replied to c0nt3nd3r's topic in Web Development (HTML, Java, PHP, ASP, XML, etc.)
nlitened I've been tinkering with WP a little and I've come across an issue where WP seems to only allow me to create links to my other pages in a way that only allows me to display my links in one section not for example a top menu and a side menu. Many of the WP themes have a top menu, but if I add the page widget I think it's called then I'm just displaying whatever links I have already that are appearing on the top menu now on the side menu. What I'm trying to ask is there a way to organize my links in any WP theme so that it appears similar to the way my current site is where I have some links on the top menu and then separate links on the side menu? -

nlitened you mentioned using a CMS such as Wordpress and I've looked at that one as my host supports it via an automatic install and the other was Movabletype, now my host doesn't mention support of this so whether that means it just doesn't support it via an automatic install like Wordpress or at all I am not sure. My fiancee wants to be more involved without always relying on me (basically when I'm slacking is what shes sayin, lol) to update the website without any major editing of code. Would such an option - WP/MT offer her the ability to make a post and add a photo if need be without touching any code? How difficult would it be to turn the current site into a WP/MT site? P.S. The rabbits are worse than children when getting photos taken, at least with children bribes work, sometimes, and I believe she may have been pregnant at that time. -
Can PHP make my life easier?

I've updated the website and all seems to be working fine. I've converted all my files to .php, is this fine? Whether, what I did is the way you more knowledgeable would have done it, probably not as I have messed something up or missed something. I have 15 pages that look like the following the only difference being the content. <?php include 'header.php'; ?> <div id="page"> ...content of each of the 15 linked pages within the site... </div> <!-- end #content --> <?php include 'menu.php'; include 'footer.php'; ?> Here's my header.php <div id="menu"> <ul> <li class="active"><a href="index.php" accesskey="1" title="Home">Home</a></li> <li><a href="funzone.php" accesskey="2" title="Fun Zone">Fun Zone</a></li> <li><a href="photos.php" accesskey="3" title="Photos">Photos</a></li> <li><a href="salespolicy.php" accesskey="4" title="Sales Policy">Sales Policy</a></li> <li><a href="about.php" accesskey="5" title="About">About</a></li> <li><a href="contact.php" accesskey="6" title="Contact">Contact Us</a></li> </ul> </div> <!-- end #menu --> <!-- Begin Code Amber Ticker code. --> <div><center> <p><script language="JavaScript1.2" src="http://www.codeamber.org/js/codea.js"> </script></p></center></div> <!-- end of Code Amber Ticker code (c)Copyright codeamber.org 2002 - 2007--> <div id="header"> <div id="logo"> <!-- <h1><a href="#"></a></h1> --> <!-- <h2><a href="#"></a></h2> --> </div> <div id="banner"><!-- <a href="#"></a> --></div> </div> <!-- end #header --> <br /><div align="center"><script type="text/javascript"><!-- google_ad_client = "pub-3187705293081815"; google_ad_width = 468; google_ad_height = 60; google_ad_format = "468x60_as"; google_ad_type = "text_image"; //2007-08-10: HomeTopLeaderboard, hilltopvillagerabbitry.com/ google_ad_channel = "3364369105+3513008004"; google_color_border = "336699"; google_color_bg = "FFFFFF"; google_color_link = "0000FF"; google_color_text = "000000"; google_color_url = "008000"; google_ui_features = "rc:6"; //--> </script> <script type="text/javascript" src="http://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/show_ads.js"> </script></div> Here's my menu.php <div id="sidebar"> <ul> <li> <h2>Hop Around</h2> <ul> <li class="first"><a href="bbnursery.php">New Arrivals & Upcoming Births</a></li> <li><a href="forsale.php">Rabbits for Sale</a></li> <li><a href="wanted.php">Wanted Rabbits</a></li> <li><a href="http://users3.smartgb.com/g/g.php?a=s&i=g35-01037-d2">Guestbook</a></li> <li><a href="links.php">Links</a></li> </ul> </li> <li> <h2>Bunny Breeds</h2> <ul> <li class="first"><a href="dutch.php">Dutch</a></li> <li><a href="minirex.php">Mini Rex</a></li> <li><a href="netherlanddwarf.php">Netherland Dwarf</a></li> <li><a href="silver.php">Silver</a></li> </ul> </li> <li> <h2>Bunny Boot Camp</h2> <ul> <li class="first"><a href="bunny411.php">Bunny 411</a></li> </ul> </li> <li> <h2>Advertising</h2> <ul> <li class="first"><script type="text/javascript"><!-- google_ad_client = "pub-3187705293081815"; google_ad_width = 180; google_ad_height = 90; google_ad_format = "180x90_0ads_al"; //2007-08-10: HomeTopLeaderboard, hilltopvillagerabbitry.com/ google_ad_channel = "3364369105+3513008004"; google_color_border = "336699"; google_color_bg = "FFFFFF"; google_color_link = "0000FF"; google_color_text = "000000"; google_color_url = "008000"; //--> </script> <script type="text/javascript" src="http://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/show_ads.js"> </script></li> </ul> </li> </ul> </div> <!-- end #sidebar --> Here's my footer.php <div style="clear: both;"> </div> </div> <div align="center"><script type="text/javascript"><!-- google_ad_client = "pub-3187705293081815"; google_ad_width = 468; google_ad_height = 60; google_ad_format = "468x60_as"; google_ad_type = "text_image"; //2007-08-10: HomeTopLeaderboard, hilltopvillagerabbitry.com/ google_ad_channel = "3364369105+3513008004"; google_color_border = "336699"; google_color_bg = "FFFFFF"; google_color_link = "0000FF"; google_color_text = "000000"; google_color_url = "008000"; google_ui_features = "rc:6"; //--> </script> <script type="text/javascript" src="http://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/show_ads.js"> </script></div> <!-- end #page --> <div id="footer"> <p id="legal">Copyright © 2007 HillTop Village Rabbitry.</p> <p id="legal">All images are the property of their respective owner.</p> </div> <!-- end #footer --> -
Can PHP make my life easier?
c0nt3nd3r replied to c0nt3nd3r's topic in Web Development (HTML, Java, PHP, ASP, XML, etc.)
For example, would the above code go into my index.html file? <?php include 'header.php'; ?> is calling for my header.php file which contains everything above the side navagation menus and the post/news boxes? <p>This is the main stuff in my page</p> is where my post/news boxes go? include 'sidebar.php'; is calling for my side navigations menus include 'footer.php'; is calling for anything posted below the side navigation and post/news boxes and copyright notice? -
I'm in no way shape or form a savvy web programmer, but recently my fiancée wanted to start her own rabbitry. I offered to help with the website. After beginning the project of making her site I'm finding myself doing a lot of needless work that can be done more efficiently I'm sure. A while back someone had showed me how to use php as a way to making life easier in regards to making little updates. Here's her website HillTop Village Rabbitry so, you can at least see what I mean by what I'm asking. The site requires updates quite frequently from the news posts on the front page to adding/removing links in the side/top navigation to adding photos on various pages. This person that had showed me a way to basically edit/update one .php file would allow the updates to be made across the board. For example, if I had to edit one of the side or top navigation menus I currently have to edit each .html file individually, which I don't mind doing, but as I stated I'm doing needless work that I'm sure can be done much more efficiently.
