  1. Cluberti, Thanks for the explanation. Could you be so nice as to tell me how do I create a shortcut/icon for Run that I can put in the Start Menu and that can be right clicked with the option to Run as Administrator? And, how does one use RunAs? I tried to find out, but couldn't. If you could just provide urls that I could consult or the name of a book, it would be great. Thank you. Pedro
  2. Windows Vista Ultimate. I can only unregister and register dlls with REGSRV32, like in regsvr32 /u c:\windows\system32\DivXDec.ax or regsvr32 "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Roxio Shared\9.0\DivX\DivXDec.ax" with UAC turned off. With UAC on, all I get is an error message (didn't wrote it down). Can someone tell me if this is normal behaviour? I'm afraid that if it isn't, it may have consequences to the successful installation of software on my system. Thank you. Pedro
  3. I have a brand new Thinkpad X61 with Vista Ultimate and Office Enterprise 2007. Every application I wanted to use with Vista is working nicely, even ones that are officially not supported. Except, that is, that I finally got to Office 2007... I opened some of the Office applications and things went well. Then I clicked on the help button on one of them. Got this, immediately: After some 4 minutes, this: Whether I reboot or not, I get this: If I do not reboot, this goes away in a few seconds and nothing happened (except wasting my time). If I do reboot, things get a bit more interesting: And then, when I cancel: Followed by: And the glorious conclusion: One has to love Microsoft... I already uninstalled Office once, I already did everything with UAC on and off, and I am not going to do any clean reinstall of Vista. Am I condemned to use Google to get help on Office 2007 on the Internet, or can I get CLVIEW.EXE to work and solve this without a clean install of Vista? I am OK with a clean reinstall of Office, if someone can explain me how to go about that.
