  1. Tried to make a reduced WinXP with nLite 1.4.8 using my Dell ReInstall CD? Got Error 1722 "There is a problem with the Windows Installer package. A program run as part of setup did not finish as expected" Would be interested to learn if anyone is using nLite with any OEM WinXP CDs. If anyone is successfully using a Dell CD what they are doing. Thanks Gene
  2. Newbie Question: Have just made my first nLite of WinXP Home. Before making a CD would like to do a Hard Drive (HD) install. Tried but had some problems. Never got a complete install on a FAT32 partition of a Slave HD. Did some searching and found out about "Syspart installation" for WinNT. Can nLite WinXP Home be used to do a "Syspart installation"? Searched the Forum but nothing http://www.msfn.org/board/forums.html Other Forums 2 hits http://www.google.com/custom?ie=UTF-8&...D%3A1&hl=en Is so would be interested in any suggestions.... Thanks Gene
  3. Would like to use nLite to Significantly Reduce Windows but I do not want to burn a CD because have not finalized my install so would like to run the reduced Windows install files from a hard drive. Did a search but to date have not found any tutorials or guides Thanks G
  4. Am recycling older PCs for Very Basic Text use. Normally I like to transfer the Windows install files for 9X to the Hard Drive (HD) and then start from a Floppy. Got started with this since W95 did not have a bootable CD and some of the older PCs had no CD drives. Now many new apps do not run on 9X so am slowly migrating to WinNT. Since these old PCs are generally hardware limited, I would like to do some initial testing of nLite WinXP before even thinking of burning a CD. Have searched the forums concerning this http://www.google.com/custom?ie=UTF-8&...D%3A1&hl=en Saw mention "best way to test is to install virtualbox and 'mount' the iso that you create with nlite in it virtualbox is a program that lets you run a 'pc within your ...." http://www.msfn.org/board/lofiversion/index.php/t114160.html Because of the hardware limitations would like to first try running the nLite reduced WinXP from a slave HD and even better if it works from a Flash Card/Drive. Am Totally new to nLite (have never made a usable nLite reduced WinNT OS). Am just now working on my first nLite reduced Win03. Would be especially interested in any suggestions from everyone who has done this. Thanks Gene OHara
