  1. Hi, I have a big problem with the two files mentioned above, giving me this error message, after the files have been copied to the HDD, and the PC has rebootet the first time: Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt: <Windows root>\system32\ntoskrnl.exe / hal.dll. Please reinstall a copy of the above file. I took an MSDNAA WinXP Pro SP2 image (x86,enu) and integrated SP3 RC2 build 3300 (x86,enu), added some drivers and IE7 (look below for details). I test-installed the resulting version onto VMware virtual machine, and everything went fine. But when I installed it on my HDD of my notebook, those error-messages came across... First time with ntoskrnl.exe, which I then replaced with an older one (build 3093) from my PC. After that, then came the same error-message with hal.dll, which I tried to replace as well, but I kept getting the error-message. Please can somebody tell me what goes wrong there. I'm using nLite for so long, never had a problem like this. :-( My Notebook is a ASUS A6Ja with CoreDuo T2300, 1GB RAM, and an ATI Mobility Radeon x1600 I integrated following drivers: ATK Driver 1043.2.31.100\ATK0100.INF,0 ATI Mobile Catalyst 8.1\Driver\XP_INF\CX_57722.inf,0 Intel Chipset Software Installation Utility 8.3.1.1009\All\5000XZVP.inf,0 Intel® PRO Wireless 3945ABG Driver 11.5.0.32\NETw4k32.INF,0 Realtek RTL8168 8111 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet NIC Driver 5.686.103.2008\Netrtle.inf,0 Realtek WDM HD Audio R1.86 with Driver 5.10.0.5559\KB888111XPSP2\hdaudbus.inf,0 Realtek WDM HD Audio R1.86 with Driver 5.10.0.5559\WDM\HDA.inf,0 RICOH Card Reader Driver 3.51.01\MS\rimsptsk.inf,0 RICOH Card Reader Driver 3.51.01\SDMMC\Rimmptsk.inf,0 RICOH Card Reader Driver 3.51.01\XD\rixdptsk.inf,0 C-Media CMI8738 C3DX PCI Audio Device Driver 5.12.1.639\cmaudio.inf,0 Intel PRO 100VE LAN Adapter Driver 6.1.3.0\neti557x.inf,0 Promise MBFastTrak 133 Lite Controller Driver 2.00.0.21\fasttrak.inf,0 NVidia ForceWare Driver 169.21\nv4_disp.inf,0 ATI Radeon Mobility 7500\Atidrive\atiixpag.inf,0 AVerMedia AVerTV Hybrid+FM CardBus 3.5.0.58\AVerBDA3x.inf,0 AVM FRITZ!Card DSL 3.11.07\fdsl.inf,0 D-Link DWL-122 Air USB Utility 3.2.1.40525 with Driver 3.1.3\netprism.inf,0 Logitech QuckCam Drivers\lvPEPIc.inf,0 MSI WLAN WPA Software 4.3.1.4\rt2500.inf,0 Terratec Aureon 5.1 Fun 5.12.1.646\aureon.inf,0 and IE7-WinXP-x86-enu_10042007.exe Please help me, thanks very much in advance Eric
  2. Hi, I'm new here, but however I am not a noob with nLite, I'm using it since SP1 and never had any problems. Using the new version 1.3.5 now however causes a problem I cannot understand. In the 2nd step where one has to locate the Windows-source (CD or folder, tried both), the program is no longer responding and causes 100% CPU-load. Only way out is to end the process. I cannot not proceed in the program. Any ideas? (.NET 2.0 Framework is installed of course, OS is a WinXP Pro SP2 nLite-modified about 1 year ago, hardware is a CoreDuo T2300 with 1GB RAM) Other observation was, that already the changing of the program language needed some time, quite an unusual fact... 1.4 beta --> same problems, further downgrading I wound want to avoid. Ok, I hope anyone can help, I would very much like to have a new installation this weekend thx a lot, flat_eric
