  1. Nothing is made by compac, these are all new components listed in my original post.
  2. Nitroshift, Thanks For the reply. I checked the bios setting for SATA and it was on "Legacy IDE Mode" so I switched it to "Native IDE Mode". Windows Installation gets a little further, but now it cant find "cpqarray.sys"n and asks to restart. I have to find out what cpqarray.sys is.
  3. Ok, First I would like to say hello to all as I am new to this forum. Second I believe in forums as a great tool for communications and thank all responders in advance. Now for the Dirt..... I decided to build a new PC with new components to replace my old one. New Components Intel E4300 CPU Gigabyte 965-DS3 Rev 3.3 MB Gigabyte 8600GTS Video Card Seagate Serial ATA HD Barracuda 7200 400g G.Skill 2GB Memory F2-6400CL4D-2GBPK OCZ 700W Pwr Supply Windows XP Home 2002 CD OEM I have tried using the Windows CD as Is, But XP would Only Recognize 131GB of My Hard Drive. Then I Tried Slipstreaming manually and using nlite to get SP2 into my windows install disc. I have about 10+ coasters now..... The nlite slipstream with SP2 got me further but when windows is loading all of the drivers for installation I get the blue screen of death saying that there was a problem and windows was shutting down...this was not even further than the original disc.. OK, I also tried adding drivers for the Gigabyte MB with the same result. Should I be trying to slipstream even the video drivers along with the motherboard drivers or has anyone installed XP on this MB with SATA and got it to work? I know My XP disc is old (2002), but is spending $100 for a newer disc going to help or does XP not support newer hardware? (or shouuld I continue to keep trying slipstream)???
