  1. BSOD says first, pardon my typos, theyt are about to get worse, my keyboards crap right now... :-) \check for virus remove any mnewly installed HD's or controllers chefck to make sure HD is properly config'd and terminated run chkdsk /f STOP ERROR: 0x0000007b (0xf78a2524, oxc0000034, 0x00000000 0x00000000) i am trying to install xp-pro sp2, from numerous disks. i have ran slipsteram disks, XP-PRO OEM with hologram insignia fresh out of the pack, XP OEM(sp1), about 7 different CD's, 2 or 3 different cd drives, tried installs of about 4 of these disks by direct copy fat 32 method as well. (clarification, thehologram disk forsome reason my key wouldnt work, so i just use that disk when files wont copy form the other disks., BUT, ASAP i am going to slipstreama new disk using the files from this oem disk, which i have not done yet) i might mention, the buld of the errors were fily coipy errors, that i have traced partially to NLITE's problem with driver.cab. So, i went straight to an oem disk to do a text install, then i would overwrite my slipstream later. So,. with all of this, im staring at yeat abnother big fat BSOD, and thats the one i have outlined above. the previous BSOD i had from another install wasnt the same prob, it was related to acpi and bios., i have an asus CROSSHAR< and i just updated BIOS to 0502. i have ran 5 different memory stick as well. 2 buffallo firestix pc6400 at 800mhx, tried at 677mhz, now have dual 1gb corsair pc-6400, and previously tried a slow 533 stick of 512mb as well. a note, i havenot reinstalled yet, since i updated my bios,i simply updated it, then restarted the PC, and found that im getting the same hard drive bluescreenerror, it hasnt changed. ************************************************************* Should i try to reinstall, since i updated BIOS? or should i look to the Hard Drives or Motherboard? ************************************************************ i recently tried this last installwith my IDE drive completely removed, and i get the same probvlem the op sys installs, but then goes to a hardward bluescreen complaining about the drives!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So, what i figure is i have to adress either a bad (*^#$&^ motherboard, or some kind of problem that i dont understand enough regarding the configuration of sata and raid. i have tried this install with raid1, mirrir, with one hard drive deisconnected, to salvage my previous files, this didnt work, i tried overwreite installs first, this didnt work, thjen i reformatted one of my mirrors, and as i stated, tried an install fresh on this one, with the other mirror pulled. this method works fine with x64 installation. then i tried disabling the raid altogether, and installing, both with IDE connect, and without IDE connected. NO CIGAR> i do have a working xp copy, and a working x64 copy on my system, and on these sata drives that imtrying to install to. so WTF???????????? should i try somealternate nvidia 590 sata drivers? im using the floppy install package found on the asus support site for the crosshair board, for both teh 32bit, and 64bit op sys. ihave tried both drivers. actually, you need to install both the sata and raid, so i have done this both 32 alone, 64 alone, and 32, and 64 which it wont let you. so again, WTF????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
