Ok - i don't know what was wrong, but a day after, device center installed automatically. Maybe it was the restart?

What is this user-pnp? i have pnp service running, but i disabled the upnp stuff. I got an networking update via windows update when i connected my device.

I just checked scanners and cameras. So i don't know. will check it next time i reinstall

extracting the mui file did not help. I had to reinstall and keep ipsec the second time. Maybe nuhi could look into it.

Google's picasa requires some components from scanners and cameras preset. don't know which exactly

Is it possible to add component dependency to vlite? Perhaps expand the list allready in place? Or maybe put up a wiki? Not everybody uses CS3 studio, but it would be nice to automatically protect the components needed. I personally had two programs with missing components and was forced to trial an error which components to keep. Searching forums for answers is fun, but it takes time.

If you remove bcdedit.exe, you can not turn on or off Data Execution Prevention (DEP). You even can't set an exception. Some software does not work with DEP on, like first version of google outlook sync tool. Can I protect bcdedit.exe in vlite?

OK I got picasa to work!! I don't know exactly what was the problem, but I left folowing components: Recomended - scanners and cameras Windows Image Acquisition Windows Photo Gallery Distributed Link Tracking Client Distributed Transaction Coordinator (DTC) Error Reporting Interactive Services Detection IP Helper IPsec Policy Agent Microsoft DFS Replication Offline Files Protected Storage Quality Windows Audio Video Experience Volume Shadow Copy WebDAV (WebClient) IMAPIv2 Burning Support Jet Database Engine MDAC Can anyone help me figure out which components are needed for Picasa? And whitch are not needed? And maybe add an picasa item in software support in Vlite? Working ini attached Thanks! edit: just scanners and cameras seem to be enough.

I left Windows Picture and Fax Viewer (Shimgvw) alone, but picasa still will not install. I have done several reinstalls. I have no problems with any other software, even photoshop works fine. Last_Session.ini

Hi again, I am still having problems when installing picasa. I vlited with 1.1.1, and tried picasa, right after I fnished installing. I did not disable any services, just did Windows Update. I think it must be something i removed. Can i send you list of removals?

Good question. I had problems installing CS3 when i disabled some services. I have problems with picasa even when i do not disable any services. In fact, i tried it as a first thing on new install.

I have problems installing picasa. On some installs, i was able to install picasa without problems. But on some installs, i can't install later versions of picasa, only older versions. If i do update, picasa will stop working. The error message given is "current user is not allowed to install or update applications" i am always runing with uac off. Tried all versions of lite, i keep reinstalling every time there is newer version.

i was not able to install cs3 even after i enabled some services. After reinstall, it worked without problems. I had some strange problems with previous installation, so i am not sure if it was the services..

second, I also removed UAC. The file sharing does not work as well.

Hi, i am trying to install adobe cs3 studio. If i check all components, or just some, like photoshop, the install runs till 100% and then fails. There is an error message half way though. Shared components are installed, but nothing else.

Hi, i'm having problems with whereisit. I tried various current versions, which all run on XP, but not on vista. I tried only vlited vista with all versions of vlite [was here from the start, thanks Nuhi]. I think i had the same problem on original version of vista, but i am not sure, was a long time ago. When i run whereisit, nothing happends. Process starts and finishes after about a second or two, no mesages, nothing. Please, i can see your screenshots of whereisit on vista, what am i doing wrong?
