i have the newest pack on the pc but i uninstalled all the codecs and reinstalled the new one agan and now divx , xvid will not play but now scrolling in the media center folders will not crash

i have problems after loading the codec packs that vista media center will crash (want to debug , restart program , close program) when going thought the video files this is driving me crazy have tred new video cards new , video card drivers , reloading vista , all the codec packs from the old ones to the new ones (vista will no crash with no codec pack on it) help
