I do use alcohol but i did reinstall windows xp twice without installing alcohol.. and when i swapped my gigabyte drivers cd & windows xp cd between the 2 drives it still happened. weird thing is this problem only started to occur a few weeks back. I did manage to see a possible reolvement to this probelm on this forum http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?...KB;EN-US;817357 see what happens

Me too..i reinstalled windows completely and still have the same problem..
