And now that we spoke of abandonware, i am making a little project for rescue some programs and utilities for modern classic macintosh(mid-end 90`s era) because (in most of cases) they are not available on legal and illegal sources. Simply they are lost in the time. An example is Virtualpc 1.0 or 2.0 for macintosh (i have a license of VPC 2.0 but VPC 3.0 is the oldest commercial version and is not supported for its "new" owner, Micro****) and im looking for the 2.13 version update because VPC 2.0 doesnt work on macos 8.6 or 9. We know that Micr*s*ft bought this Connectix product a long time ago and put off the classic macos support for virtualpc . EDIT: Thanks for the explanation. Im glad for the "resistance call" that this site promotes. This prevents the bad experiences to use old OS as if they were new (as in my case). Is really amazing.

abandonware is NOT open source software. These software has copyrighted, but when the product creator gives its source code to public domain, is possible (Quake series for example).

! Nothing changes. The AWE 64 behavior is the same. And "3D sound mode" stinks in win2000 (makes a "delay effect", specially over itunes and some directsound based apps). Games and windows 98 doesn't have problems but im worried for my sound apps.

I tested some drivers for my creative awe 64 ISA card. With windows 98, no problem(even i can use hardware directsound support on it). With wind*ws 2000... I have installed a WDM driver, but i cannot use the MME Driver in some programs and others only can use emulated directsound driver (problems with some games and audio programs). Anybody know a good driver for awe 64? I Tried with NT4 drivers too, but is too unstable in my computer. PD: Excuse me for my bad english.

Months ago, i sold parts from a compaq presario laptop. Its authenticity hologram (it has the serial number) is mine now but the laptop restore cd is lost. Which defines the license? The hologram or the cd?
