  1. If the SP2is already an nLite disc, it could possibly be the cause of your surprises (OOBE, EULA, ao). Thanks, but no, it's not an already nLited disk. I'm using an unbranded OEM SP2 Windows XP Professional CD (Of the kind I sold to system builders in my disty days) as my base.
  2. Ok, I added the following entries to the WINNT.SIF file.. [unattended] OemSkipEula=Yes UnattendSwitch="Yes" FileSystem=* ...and it worked just fine. I added FileSystem=* because I need to be able to format C: for a clean install. Without it, it installs windows into a new folder keeping the old install there... not ideal! I can't use the other methods for preping the hard disk because I have a D: partition on the same physical with data on it that I need to keep. From all I've read, there seems to be no way of using WINNT.sif to just format C: without repartitioning the whole drive. Side note.. before I added those items, Setup would also ask me to read the EULA. I never had any of these issues with previous versions of nLite... Last version I used was... 1.4.5... I think.... can't quite remember exactly. So... is this a bug in V1.4.8?? Cheers Ticcer
  3. Thanks for that 5eraph. The code you mentioned is not in the SIF file, so I've added it and will set it to install now. I'll post back here with the results.
  4. OK.. I tried again and this time ticked the OOBE box For off... 5. OOBE = Out Of Box Experience !! LMAO. OK. Thanks for that. It would be handy if there was some explanation of that FLA in the program.. like a tool tip or something. I had no idea what that meant. FLA = Four Letter Acronym! Cheers.
  6. I have the same problem. Even though I have set the user preferences I want in the 'Users' tab in nLite V1.4.8, it still wants me to create a user account. The user account screen is blank with no names in it... it doesn't even fill in the first name with the one from the 'Users' tab. I am trying to integrate an XP SP2 Pro with SP3 and other fixes with various addons. I have tried it with HIde Pages & Prompt Repair methods and it's the same, either way. Sure, I can just delete the newly create account I am forced to create, leaving the nLite created account intact along with Guest and Administrator, but that's an extra step I'd rather not have to do every time, plus it sort of defeats the point of an 'Automated' install. The other issue is that when the system boots, it is supposed to auto logon to the nLite created account, but whether the other user account is deleted or not, it pops an error saying "The system could not log you on. Make sure your User name an domain are correct, then type your password again. Letters in passwords must be typed using the correct case" ... then I'm presented with the welcome screen and have to click my name to log on... which it then does just fine. Any help would be appreciated. Here's my last session ini file. 7. [Many thanks for this addon. QT TabBar is one of the best shell extension plugins I've ever used. Question.. does this addon include all those plugins to QT TabBar, that make it so useful? Cheers
  8. Ya know, I did try that... But it does not seem to like the MS installer of IE7.. I had all sorts of Errors coming up... I didn't want to use the IE7 addon from the RyanVM site either, as it, lack of a better word, it's not perfect yet. I'm supporting a few users who wouldn't know a keyboard from a CPU so I have to have things as simple as possible. With the DVD's I've made for these people so far, everything works as expected... (apart from the 3.5 hour install time experienced with XP Home... I've never experienced it with XP Pro) ... One thing though... I don't understand why the RyanVM hotfix pack is any cleaner... If I use all the same original hotfixes that are in that pack, surely they do the same thing, does they not?? Cheers Ticcer
  9. I just did an XP Home install on VMware... It took 3 hours from the 13 minutes left time to complete the install... I had all hot fixes to date, IE7 & WMP11 plust a few addons from RyanVM site.... It sucks, I know... But it works a treat. Ticcer
  10. Ok... It's confirmed.. I am a Nong! Re installed with all hotfixes as per RyanVM's latest hotfix addon as well as some others... except I got all the actual MS hotfixes and integrated them with nLite rather than use RyanVM's package... It was real easy to integrate IE7 and WMP11 using the proper hotfixes and proper MS install files. I ended up with an XP Pro installation fully updated to march 2007 with IE7 & WMP11 ... except for the .Net installs which are no bother to install afterwards... and I got all the hotfixes for those too. Also I added a user instead of renaming the users already present... too easy Duh!!! A great little tool this. Cheers Ticcer PS I thought I should also add I used the RyanVM Addons Pack V1.8.1, RyanVM WGA Addon V1.7.18.1 - March 20, 2007, Extended Character Map V1.41, **** NFO Viewer V2.10.0032, Copy Message Box V2.2 addons from RyanVM's page. Worked a treat!
  11. OMG What a Dork is I!! "the standard "Guest" account" That never even crossed my mind, **** it! I'm gonna have to wait a couple of weeks now to try out NOT screwing with the guest account, coz it's a little busy around here right now; but thanks Ponch... I think you might have something there. Ticcer
  12. I wish windoze did bypass the welcome screen.. it just sits there waiting for me to click a user account button that does not exist. I have to ctrl-alt-del to access the logon dialogue. I have no pass set up either, so just type my user name and hit enter... When I get into windoze, the account does not have admin privileges... even though I told windoze it should have when I set it up in safe mode. If I try and logon the the admin account via the same method, it says it has been disabled. Ticcer
  13. Hi All. I'm playing with nLite... Downloaded nLite V1.3 Final yesterday. I successfully completed a slipstream of all my hotfixes, IE7, WM11 and tested it on VMware virtual machine. All good. I wanted to add my nVidia video card drivers to the installation, so I used last session detail and added the driver inf... it made the ISO and ran and installed fine... except it hung the install at the 33 minute mark, so I reset and the installation picked up where it hung and finished with no further issue. On first boot... Did all the normal stuff (internet etc) when it came to the Welcome screen, there was no user name to click on... even though I did set a user up on nLite and again in the Windows install (as I was using the "provide defaults" option which seems to not register the user account set up in nLite when installing the OS... no bother though) In nLites "Unattended" section under the "User" tab, there is the default Administrator account.. I did as I had done before and changed the "guest" account to the desired name I wanted. in the "Options" section, I messed about with the "Active" setting. I 'thought' I'd set the administrator account to not active and my user account to "active" There is little or no explanation of what this option does.. I assumed it would make my user account active and the system would boot into my user account... as I'd set it to active. I did the above because although my first attempt at creating an nLite installation, although successful, seemed to boot into the Administrator account.. which I knew was set to "active" for my first attempt... and my user account was not ticked as "active" I ctrl-alt-del at welcom screen to access the user pass dialogue.. tried the admin account but a warning popped up saying I was not allowed to login that way with that account. (Or something similar) The user account did not have permission either. In safe mode, I could get into the admin account but not the user account. I could SEE the user account in the Users applet through control panel, but could do nothing with it. I set up a New user account and re-booted. I can't remember ecactly what I did, but I eventually got access to the original user account on a normal reboot via the ctrl-alt-del method.. I still could not see the user icon though. So my questins are... Why was there no user account icon to click on at the welcome screen? Could someone please explain the "options" part of the "user" tab... what it does and what it effects. Does anyone have any other ideas about what's going on here? Below is the last session.ini that was used.
