  1. Hmmm... The super admin thingy would've sounded like it would've worked, but once I switched it on the computer locked up. I Ctrl+Alt+Del and it came to, so I tried to delete those **** files on the Start Menu - lock-up number 2. Man, I am beginning to think this was an error getting Vista Ultimate. That SP better come quick, cause they are going to loose my business quick. So there is no way to get rid of these folders? Whether in Explorer or the Start Menu? Geez, what were these people thinking?! Microsoft is getting a bit e-Fascist I think. I think they are underestimating the ability of most users and forcing us to do as they want, don't like it. Time to get a Mac.
  2. OK, I recently got Vista. Love the aesthetics of it, but disliking how it is forcing me to organize. 1) First, I like to use Windows Explorer as my computer browser. I hate how it is making me use this clutter of folders (Pictures, Videos, Desktop, etc.) when I have my own system of organizing. When I delete these folders, all they do is reappear. How can I get rid of these folders for good? 2) The Start Menu is horribly organized. When I install programs it puts a folder on the Start Menu (some programs let me opt out of it), however, if I want to consolidate all of the games into a "Games" folder, it says I do not have permission to perform that act - what do they mean? I AM THE ADMIN! If I want to delete a folder, why can't I? If someone can give me this much help, I have more...
  3. I have Windows XP. I recently bought a video game and it is in DVD-CD format. When I put it in Windows does not recognize the files. After some time I've realized that I might have a UDF issue - that the DVD was done in a UDF format(?) that my system cannot read. How can I get my system to recognize the data on this disc? Please help me!
  4. I'm no guru when it comes to web design, but I've created a number of web pages using MS Word that has done the trick. Here is my issue: When I create an image I usually save it in .png format which in turn (when inserted into a web page) is transferred to a .gif image upon the saving of the HTML document. I have noticed that when the image is transferred/converted, it usually begins to distort or fray on the edges. What do I do to prevent this issue? There has got to be a way to keep image clarity and crispness without losing it. Can anyone help me? Thanks,
  5. I really wasn't sure where to post this, so I'm dropping it here; if a moderator should see it fit to move it, please alert me to where it went. I'm building a website (in HTML format) and want to have an icon attached to the .html file so that it will appear in the browser's address - just like how this website has the multi-colored diamond/square. Any suggestions? Also, what is a good program to make good icons? Steve
  6. I'm not sure, but I would try hitting Ctrl + A (select all, which will select everything in the document) and then try: 1) hitting the down arrow button next to the bullet button and select your format of choice, 2) right-clicking on the bullet button to bring up the format feature, or 3) go to the Format tab and select Bullets and Numbers to select your format of choice. I'm pretty sure the various ways of bringing up the bullet format menu depends on the version you are using. But by selecting the entire document you should be good. Steve
  7. To all, (appreciate all who take the time to read this) OK, I'm want to print out small books from out of Microsoft Word, layout would be typical landscape on a 11"x8.75" piece of paper. However, I am trying to get the program to correlate them automatically, for instance: If the book has 8 pages (not including cover) the outside page would be (on the outside) pages 1 and 8; the inside of that very page would be pages 2 and 7. Get it? the next page would be (outside) pages 3 and 6 and (inside) page 4 and 5. This way I can just print the buzzards out and staple them together right down the middle and apply a cover - good to go. I have to assume that Word has a way that automatically puts this together without having to manually prepare it, which would be - don't mind my French - a complete pain in the arse. Steve
