i did fixed the problem. it wasn't due to nlite, sorry guys. i use shellpacks, those shell32.dll files, u change ur original one with a custom made one. well, i renamed it to shell32.dl_ and replaced the original one in the i386 folder, prior making iso. after installation, it worked perfectly, except that little glitch, which i never suspected could arise from this. eventually i got suspicious and made a copy without it and the problem was fixed. so I guess u shouldn't use custom made shell32.dll files in your nlite xp. u might get into trouble like this. anyway thanx guys. see ya.

it is set to 1. and John, this copy of xp came from ms with sp2 integrated. i have integrated sp3 into it and used for some days. it was just fine then. no modifications were done then, just the sp3 integration. problem started when i used nlite on this copy to make a lite unattended copy.

i took an untouched copy of xp with sp3 integrated. than i did some work with nlite. everything is fine except my dvd-roms won't refresh. when i insert a dvd, the drive icons won't change. if i log off or reboot, with the dvd inside the rom, than the rom icon changes. than if i eject the disk, it won't go back to default. if i insert another disk than, it shows the content of the new disk, but the drive icon from last disk. it remains this way until next reboot or logoff. i haven't disabled autorun and shell hardware detection. so, what should i do to fix this problem. is there something i removed , that i shouldn't have? please let me know. i have attached my session file, if u want to have a look at it. Sorry to bother , but link not working . can u any1 please gimme a new link ? or if u know how to make the " XviD Encoder, AviSynth, and VobSub." tools silent , that would be great too . i tried to make autogk silent with "/S" switch , but it only installed autogk . that asked me about "XviD Encoder, AviSynth, and VobSub." . Please help . thanx for ur time .

i only know about logon skins . find a logon skin u want to use , rename it to logonui.ex_ . copy it into your "I386" folder in windows setup directory . it will replace your original logon skin . u can also replace original shell32.dll file this way . i got a shell32.dll file from crystalxp briopack and renamed it as shell32.dl_ . copied it into the "I386" folder replacing the original one . it worked fine for me in both sp2 and sp3 . sorry for my bad english . it's not my native language .
