  1. Your guess was right, Geek. Thanks for your help. Sound works fine now. Tipper.
  2. I re-formatted my disk and reloaded Windows XP. Everything works great ... except I have no sound. In the Device Manager, the multimedia audio controller has a big yellow question mark on it. Ugly problem > I re-formatted my disk and reloaded Windows XP. Everything works great ... except I have no sound. In the Device Manager, the multimedia audio controller has a big yellow question mark on it. I downloaded Belarc Advisor and did a PC audit. System Model = Desktop ( a clone of some sort ) Processor = 2.67 gigahertz Intel Pentium 4, 8 kilobyte primary memory cache, 512 kilobyte secondary memory cache Main Circuit Board = Board: MICRO-STAR INTERNATIONAL CO., LTD MS-6540 Bus Clock: 133 megahertz BIOS: Phoenix Technologies, LTD 6.00 PG 10/31/2003 Memory Modules = 512 Megabytes Installed Memory How and where do I get a sound driver?
  3. After some research, I figured this one out myself. In the end, the answer was straightforward > Archive the calendar items. Then delete the archive file.
  4. Hello. How do I "clean out" all my old meetings from Outlook Calendar? I am trying to save space. Thanks, Tipper.
  5. I am trying to copy the contents of the C:\Documents and Settings folder of an XP computer to a USB disk drive to then transport those contents to a new Vista computer. However, I am getting all kinds of errors ( security, already in use, etc. ) when I drag and drop the folder onto the USB disk drive. The new computer has 500gb of disk, the old one only has 50gb of disk so I just want to copy everything "lock, stock and barrel" to an "Old Computer" folder on the new computer. Then the children will have access to the old computer's contents if they need something from that computer. How can I overcome this stumbling block? Thanks, Tipper.
  6. When I go to delete an XP user account, the system warns me ( among other things ) that all email messages will be deleted. Are we talking Hotmail email messages here? Also, does it delete everything related to Hotmail? ( inbox, sent items, contacts, etc. ) Or does it just delete messages in the inbox? Thanks.
  7. Problem solved >>> Using exchange server. My local ost file was corrupted. Established a new profile, re-loaded email from server ... no problem. All categories unique and in the proper sequence. I have no idea how my ost file got corrupted. Thanks for all the views.
  8. Hello, I have used Email Categories functionality for a long time. However, in the last few weeks, I have encountered a problem that perplexes me. I group my inbox emails by category. The categories are displayed in ascending sequence. Within each category, I display my emails in Received Date sequence. Here is the problem > Some categories are duplicated in my view and not in the proper sequence. For example, I have 50 emails in a category called Tools-EKM. There are two groups of emails for that category ... one with 40 emails in and one with 10 emails in it. I need to pull these 50 emails back into one group, in the proper sequence. I have attached an exhibit of the problem. Can anybody provide insight? Thank you. 070324___Exhibit___MS_Outlook_Categories_Problem.doc
