  1. I think I'll go for SP0 + SP2 + SP3 + IE7 + WMP11... There's no reason for SP1a I think! I have used direct SP0 to SP2 slipstreaming for years without a problem. It seems that SP3 is pseudo cumulative... It has 99% of the other service packs but not really EVERYTHING.

    But do you think going for SP0 + SP1a + SP2 + SP3 + IE7 + WMP11 would be a better choice?

  2. Ok what we know now is that we should not slipstream IE7 & WMP11 first.

The other question is now should we include all the SP2 HotFix for IE7 & WMP11 also into SP3 or are there now HotFix version coming out for SP3 ?

The only HotFix i found where it is written that it is also for SP3 is KB947864

    KB947864 (For SP2 only)

    http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...;DisplayLang=en

    KB947864 (For SP2 & SP3)

    http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...;DisplayLang=en

Funny is also if i install IE7 without Updates on a WinXP SP3 Machine. And i go then to Windows Update Center and check for updates then no HotFix'es get listed for IE7 o_O

    I'm wondering:

What if you install Windows XP with SP2 and then IE7... Without going to WU (or MU) you install SP3, will you be able to get the updates afterwards? From what've seen SP3 blocks IE7 SP2 updates! You need to get them before getting SP3.

I'm really confused... I don't know what to do to get Windows XP SP3 with IE7 up to date :(

ANY HELP WOULD BE VERY APRRECIATED!

  3. I want to integrate SP3 and IE7. How do I integrate it so that SP3 updates my IE7 instead of IE6 (it updates depending on what you have on your system but I don't know how it is on slipstreaming)??

    I mean should I do

    1 - SP0 + SP3 + IE7

    or

    2 - SP0 + SP2 + IE7 + SP3

    or

    3 - SP0 + SP3 + IE7 + SP3 (again to update IE7)

    I assume that SP0 + IE7 + SP3 is impossible since IE7 was made after SP2...

P.S.: SP0 = WINDOWS XP GOLD (THE ONE FROM 2001)

You should always slipstream Service Packs before anything else. You are correct I believe IE7 requires SP2 minimum. I've noted in this thread http://www.ryanvm.net/forum/viewtopic.php?p=73960#73960 that XP with SP3 doesn't even list IE7 on Microsoft Update; not as critical or optional. Not until they fix it. So even if you manually install (or integrate) IE7 on XP SP3, you won't be able to tell if all of the current IE7 hotfixes are applied since MU also won't list IE7's hotfixes under SP3, from what I understand.

Yeah I already figured that out!! Can anyone give a list of all updates released for IE7 since its release? I want to also integrate them because I can't get them from Windows Update (or Microsoft Update if you wich!).

  4. I did SP3 on a Gold source.

Added IE7 And a bunch of addons.

Ran boooggys' slipstreamer with Just WMP11

    all went fine.

Don't you think it would be good to reapply the SP3 after adding IE7 and WMP11?? Just to make sure that all files are updated? Or would it just dump SP3 files and ovewrite IE7 with IE6 files?

EVEN IF NOT SURE GIVE ME YOUR OPINION!
