Ok, I've tried out the system on a separate monitor, and everything appears fine. I presume this means a hardware problem with the Thinkpad's LCD? Anyone know if there's anything I can do about that?

Hi everyone I've had a very recent computer problem pop-up within the last 2 days. Various strips of distorted color and scanlines have begun appearing on my screen. The strange thing is, it sometimes reverts to normal, and it doesn't seem permanent. For example, if I open up the start button, it draws just fine. Same for the mouse. It does, however, appear even during POST. It's on an IBM Thinkpad, T23. Only a few days old. (I was in the process of setting it up.) I have just recently updated the graphics drivers to 12.90.90 (or something like that; the latest from S3/Via's website). WinXP Pro SP2 Intel P3 1.13 ghz 256 mb RAM (pitiful, I know) S3 Graphics Super Savage/IXC 1014
