1. (replying to your own posts is like laughing at your own jokes... ow) ok, i think i found the issue. the file is usbd.sys. right after (or while installing that file) it bombs to the message above and so far, nothing can fix it. i did some research and found out that this maybe a solo issue with the inspiron i9400/e1705 laptops. any insight or recognition of this thread would be wonderful.
2. now i'm pretty confuzzled when it comes to this. i can do a clean full install of windows xp, but when i use my n-lite version, it asks me for a second disc (even after switching it with the full install disc didn't satisfy it's needs). i'm installing it on a Dell 1705 core duo with 1 gig of ram. if you need any more information please let me know. Update: i did a full format and install of the nlite version and i got to file usb***.sys right before it said "Insert the CD labeled: Windows XP Professional CD2 into your CD-Rom drive." Update: trying old version of N-lite. 1.4.8
3. *FOUND ONE THAT MIGHT WORK* takes some work, but from where i've gotten it's possible. try this so far i've gotten to the set up screen but my 1 gig stick wasn't big enough. attempting to disable the size limitations as we speak.
