I cannot get this system up and working, Could someone please read through this and see if they can spot something This is basically what I have done, 1. Joined a PC to a 5-port 10Base BASE-2/T Palm Top Hub using a Patch cable (CAT .5E/CAT .5 ISO/IEC) 2. Joined a LAPTOP to a 5-port 10Base BASE-2/T Palm Top Hub using a Patch cable (CAT .5E/CAT .5 ISO/IEC) 3. All lights light up fine 4. Switched off Firewalls on both computers 5. Run 'Network Set-up Wizard' on both computers 6. [RESTARTED BOTH] Then From both computers * Created a folder and set sharing on both to 'Share this folder' on the network and 'Allow others to alter files' * Switched off Firewalls on both computers * Checked File Sharing is on under Properties * Pinged other computer, All packets read fine. * Checked Computer Name is different Then from Laptop 1. Checked My Network I see the Laptop Computer (no PC) 2. Tried to Add Network Place fails to Recognise Server on Network 3. Run > "\\[computer name]\[name of shared folder]", fails to Recognise Server on Network 4. Run > "\\[computer IP]\[name of shared folder]", fails to Recognise Server on Network Then from PC 1. Checked My Network I see NOTHING! [empty folder] 2. Tried to Add Network Place fails to Recognise Server on Network 3. Run > "\\[computer name]\[name of shared folder]", fails to Recognise Server on Network 4. Run > "\\[computer IP]\[name of shared folder]", fails to Recognise Server on Network Pinged both computers, packets read fine! I'm stumped boys n gals, or as Data would say, "insufficient knowledge to form an opinion"
