  1. thanks for the advise, i had thought about corrupting the tcpip.sys file, i have come across some virus's that do the same thing and i havent been able to access the internet or a network with them, dont worry i wont put a virus on them ill use a hex editor or something similar. i tried removing all the network components and all related services but the nic installed and let me striaght on no probs, if we cant come up with a solution i will have to create a very limited account disable all i can in device manager and bios, but this is not the prefered way i would like to go, it would be too easy to get around, thanks for the help nathan
  2. hi, this might sound like a strange request, but i would like to make a lite version of xp that has no networking support at all including bluetooth usb modems etc, i have tried removing components but to no luck the bl**dy thing still works, i had a thought of trying to remove the tcpip.sys file so that the stack wont work can this be done? i created an image a while ago, by sheer bad luck, the networking side of things werent working so i know it can be done, am installing laptops at my school and they have to be completly standalone so the kids cant install anything or repair anything so that it allows them on the internet when the laptops are out of school. i will be grateful for any help. (sorry about the spelling and grammer it friday) nath
