  1. Anyone? Im officially stumped.... I just want to add these RAID controller drivers to my RIS server so I can load an image.
  2. So I've read a lot of topics on here regarding this issue but none seem to make sense to me So I have some IBM servers that have LSI Raid controllers that obviously need to be install prior to loading Windows 2003 Svr. I read about the txtsetup.sif file but not sure what to add/edit in it. I have successfully added the proper NIC drivers to get it to load so I am somewhat familiar with adding the files to the $oem$ DIR's and editing the ristndrd.sif. Can someone explain to me what this txtsetup does and how I should go about editing it? I've read http://gosh.msfn.org/txtsetup.htm which is a GREAT site but still doesnt give me the insight I need as to what to modify etc. Im also running into another issue that when I run riprep.exe on a new Imaged box and stop the services etc and it uploads the image to the RIS server, yet when I go to select an OS it only shoes the default Windows 2003 Image that was setup during the install from the CD. But thats another topic Thanks in advance.
  3. Im using RIS to rollout images of XP Pro to PC's and came across a problem with the admin account being disabled per a line in the riprep.sif. After researching I found that I had to REMOVE the line: DisableAdminAccountOnDomainJoin = 1 Thinking that this would resolve it, I went ahead and ran the RIS setup again and voila same thing. Disables the local admin account. Now, I know there are ways around this but the whole point of RIS is to somewhat make this simple. Any help would be GREAT! I have removed the * for the ADMIN PASSWORD and left it blank to where it says " " instead of "*". That asks me to enter a password once it boots up which is fine, but when I give it one I get a The Domain Could Not Be Accessed Due To Networking Problems. Im at a loss.... Here's my riprep.sif file: [data] floppyless = "1" msdosinitiated = "1" OriSrc = "\\%SERVERNAME%\RemInst\%INSTALLPATH%\%MACHINETYPE%" OriTyp = "4" LocalSourceOnCD = 1 [setupData] OsLoadOptions = "/noguiboot /fastdetect" SetupSourceDevice ="\Device\LanmanRedirector\%SERVERNAME%\RemInst\%INSTALLPATH%" SysPrepDevice="\Device\LanmanRedirector\%SERVERNAME%\RemInst\%SYSPREPPATH%" SysPrepDriversDevice="\Device\LanmanRedirector\%SERVERNAME%\RemInst\%SYSPREPDRIVERS%" [unattended] OemPreinstall = no FileSystem = LeaveAlone ExtendOEMPartition = 0 TargetPath = \WINDOWS OemSkipEula = yes InstallFilesPath = "\\%SERVERNAME%\RemInst\%INSTALLPATH%\%MACHINETYPE%" LegacyNIC = 1 [userData] FullName = "%USERFIRSTNAME% %USERLASTNAME%" OrgName = "%ORGNAME%" ComputerName ="%MACHINENAME%" [GuiUnattended] OemSkipWelcome = 1 OemSkipRegional = 1 TimeZone = %TIMEZONE% AdminPassword = "*" [Display] BitsPerPel = 32 XResolution = 1024 YResolution = 768 VRefresh = 60 [Networking] [NetServices] MS_Server=params.MS_PSched [identification] JoinDomain = %MACHINEDOMAIN% DoOldStyleDomainJoin = Yes [RemoteInstall] Repartition = Yes UseWholeDisk = Yes [OSChooser] Description ="PC Description" Help ="Software that's been installed" LaunchFile ="%INSTALLPATH%\%MACHINETYPE%\templates\startrom.com" ImageType =SYSPREP Version="5.1 (2600)" SysPrepSystemRoot="Mirror1\UserData\WINDOWS" HalName=halmacpi.dll ProductType=0 My RIS folder is, and thats where the riprep.sif is \\RISSERVER\REMINST\Setup\English\Images\"OS IMAGE"\i386\Templates The only other folder and where the ristndrd.sif resides is, I also removed the line from the ristndrd.sif as well. \\RISSERVER\REMINST\Setup\English\Images\WINDOWS\i386\templates
