    you can install wmp11 even if you did the "WMP compatibility cleanup" or something like that. You need to unpack the WMP11 installer to a directory, and start the wmp11.exe yourself. wmp11 will install like a windows hotfix, and it works.

    I can confirm this issue. The error message is: " Fatal Error: Setup failed to install the product catalogs. This is a fatal error. The setup log files should contain more information. "
