  1. Never had this problem before. I've searched high & low with no luck. Everytime I make my unattended CD it installs fine, then disbales the admin account. I have to go into safe mode to fix it. 2. I am currently starting over. The source files were fine on previous attempts. Only after I decided to remove the extra components did it cause the issue. These were not random mising files, or bad media, the names of the files coralated directly with components I had removed with nLite. I assume nLite removes the files, then rewites the seciton of the installer that copies the files?
  3. I used nLite v1.2.1 to remove compnents, do some setup tweaks etc. When installing the OS I hadto ESC past hundreds of files. By the file names these were for the components I removed, etc. What did I do wrong, I presume that nLite changes something so when installing these files are not an issue. After ESC thru all the missing files the OS runs fine, just need to fix that part
  4. OK, I've got a HP OEM Disc that came with my newest towers. So I have the proper steupp.ini file. Where exactly do I place the OEMBIOS Files? I noticed on the original CD they are in a custom folder, and also compressed under i386. Would it be a proper assumption that I would need a seperate CD with that manufactures OEMBIOS files for each make I deal with HP, DELL, Gateway, & IBM?
  5. That is corrrect. OK I will move them. However, I already slipstreamed the hotfixes into the source files from that location is that a problem? I assume the install features need those cab files? I assume the .exe's are no longer needed? Or did nLite move the cabs it needed elsewhere?
  6. Ok, I integrated my hotfixes. Now I have a folder full of hotfixes, and Cabs. I assume I can delete the .exe's? Also, I integrated the hotfixes from E:\XPCD\I386\SVCPACK Do I leave the cabs there?
  7. I've been playing with this a lot lately. I downloaded MySysprep and tried it today. I built the image on a MP machine and then tried to ghost it to a UP machine. The UP machine simply fails to boot, the sceen stays black and on a repower it says windows did not start propelry, this process just loops. SHould I build on a UP machine, and try and ghost that to a MP machine instead? And if so how/where do the MP files get to the image.
  8. It is a rare occurance these days for tyhem to actually come with one. I will dig around. I usually don't mess with them, because they are designed to reinstall the complete system the way the manufacturer sent it out, which is exactly what I don't want. But I will look at one and see if I can take it appart...any other thoughts
  9. OK, I checked three of my source discs. Each had the setup.ini file and this is all they contained, two of them are suprisingly the same. I say that because of the source of these two CDs is completely unique. Anyway, does this info mean something that cna be translated, or do mine simply lack the information? I'm good with the idea that retail vs oem vs vlk require seperate CDs. As I am trying to build CDs that require legitimate keys at install time. I just find it amazing that I can onky seem to produce a vlk version. I have over 100 laptops here, each has a key on the bottom, and I can't seem to build a disc that will accept it. 10. I am trying to build a few version of my unattended install disc, for various installations. For my main job we have a voume key we use and I add that to the disc. For other jobs I need to use the CDKEY provided to me by the user or on the machine itself. I learned that my main cd doesn't work in those instances becuase apparently it is a volume version. I have tried to build one that will work in all non-vol scenerios but none of the source CDs I have seem to work..I am looking for a way to check the CDs file structure to tell what type the CD is intended for
