  1. Okay... I'm at my wits end now and need expert help. Here's the problem. If I go to Explore and browse through the folders and click on a file or folder, a message window pops up asking me to confirm that I want to send the file to the recycle bin. Clicking on the "Cancel" option tends to envoke another message window asking the same thing..........over and over and over again. It may take a dozen time of repeating this to final get it to go away. Using the mouse doesn't work, I have to use the arrow keys on the keyboard. In addition to this, if I click on a Desktop Icon, it tries to do the same thing.........sending it to the recycle bin. At first I thought it was the mouse gone bad and replaced it along with the new drivers. Problem remained. I have reformatted the harddrive and completed a fresh install of Windows XP Home SP1 and installed all security updates and patches to no avail.............Problem still remains, although not as bad.........at least I can click on Desktop Icons without getting the message. I use XoftSpy for spyware monitoring and AVG Pro for virus...........on all my systems. The problem only exist on the laptop, which is a Compaq. The problem appeared after my wife tried to install a language bar. Does this sound like a hardaware problem or is it software (i.e. registry).............I'm ready to use the laptop for target practice, my 9mm is feeling neglected lately and I'm sure during a period of utter boredomed this weekend with all the family here, I'll be tempted to breakdown and shoot the thing, sending it to the laptop burial ground at the landfill. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
