now, i need backup office 2007 activation. then,i reinstall win 7 and restore activation.
i need script backup office 2007 activation.
canyou help me?
and he did say "i forget office license key."
Therefore an assumption is made that it is already installed and he wants to reinstall. Get the key from the current install, reinstall WIn 7 and install office and use key to activate.

I have an 11 year old boy who has recently started acting a bit secretive with his msn. He is hanging around with some questionable scrotes and despite me asking him to stop seeing them he continues to do so.
They communicate at night using Windows Live messenger and I did use one of the numerous programs to log the conversations (he kept turning off the defualt MS option) on his laptop but now he has d/l an app for his ipod touch so obviously these are no good. I would like to keep an eye on him again just to make sure nothing is going on and avoid the arguments and lying that would most likely occur, so I was wondering if anyone knew of a method to record just this traffic.
I have a wireless network and the connection is via a adsl modem from our service provider (PlusNet). As this is a switch the sniffing program won't work. The model is a Thomson tg585 and is pretty locked down when it comes to configuring things. I have read about port mirroring and arp spoofing but I don't think these to be do able.
I know this is a touchy subject, why don't I block net access, take phone and ipod of him etc but that is more trouble as this will just force him to find another way I may noy know about. IDoes anyone know of a method to do this?

.....The program reads entries from the cache.ini file. If the entries are there in the but the folders or files aren't this will produce the error. Can you check that this is the case.

Do the *.MSP files used to update Microsoft Office products contain updated registry information?
Yes. The msp files contain information that is used for the registry entries. When slipstreamed the information isn't added but is needed as MU checks for it to find out if an update is installed. The Integrator uses this information to create a reg file and it is imported after the Office setup so the updates are registered as installed.

hey benners m8 I have a feature request....
On the first "page" you come to when you run the app it gives you the list of all the msi's that is found in your cache... well could you add a full description on what each one does/is for?

I could if there was any info in the msi. If I inputed some sort of English description (Unsure of what they all are myself) then I would need to translate it for each language.

This is done in the latest release. Haven't had any reply notification from the board so miised these last posts. Had a personal message from sb4200 (who seems to have been deleted now) telling me of a fault.
this tool works fine with the new relase of WLM 14.0.8089.726?It does now.
I have a problem... with the old version it signalled me the necessity to integrate some file like "crt.msi", "Contacts.msi" etc... but now in cache folder there is not trace of these files...I installed the full suite of apps from the new version and those msi's are still listed.
I will be releasing the latest version with the updated A-Patch later on.

need? no. You do not need to terminate the cables into a patch panel. You could just as easily terminate the ends of the wire into an RJ-45 jack and plug them into whatever switch you want. The beauty of a patch panel, and why I chose to terminate into one with my house project, is that it looks much cleaner.
I have a finished basement "office" where all my gear is. I didn't want a bunch of wires coming out of a hole in the wall, so I fastened my patch panel right into the hole I cut so that it sits flush on top of the sheetrock and all the wires are hidden. I thought it looked much cleaner. Then I run individual wires down from each port on the panel to a 24-port gb switch mounted in a 13U APC rack with some other stuff. Every 6" or so of exposed cable I use a velcro tie-wrap so that it looks neat and tidy. This allows me to run multiple lines to various places in my home, but knowing that the lines aren't active yet, I don't necessarily need to run the cable from the patch-panel to my switch.
It depends on your situation though. If you're setup is just in a utility closet and you don't care about neatness, then you don't need a panel. Just make sure you use some kind of labeling system on the cables (whether you use a patch-panel or not) because you'll quickly forget which cable run goes where.
Thanks for the reply. I am a bit anal about neatness and cable layout and I think it would also be easier. Less crimping of RJ45 I can just punch the connections into the panel and buy some patch cables.
I'll look for a 48 port panel, that way if I need to I can always get another switch. I still dream of a world where fridges are connected to the net and the Gas and Electric meters are read online so no moving of furniture or waiting in for meter readers.

I am soon to start renovations on a house I have bought. Whilst I have the ceilings down and the floor boards up I am going to run CAT5e cable to all the rooms and have 2 network points in each.
The idea is to use a 24 port gigabit switch with POE (Netgear GS724TP - 100EUS Pro-Safe, maybe) 2 ports for each room but use an 8 port gigabit switch in the living room instead of running 8 lengths of cable. I always wanted to tinker with IP cameras so the idea is to have External POE IP cameras outside (Front and Back) and internal IP cameras in other rooms with some software (AXIS?) to monitor and\or get a DVR to record the outside. One question is this, do I really need to use a patch panel to terminate the connections? I was just going to plug straight into the switch.
I have never attempted anything this big so I could use some advise. I have Googled and got a list of bookmarks going but wanted to ask for others opinions\advise.

I have just created an Italian WLM addon and tested using RVMI with just that addon in a VM. It installed OK and I could log in successfully. I also did not have the problem with the "self heal" either so it appears that it is not a language problem.
I think just mara- has found the solution because I try on a pc without wlm installed and everything went well.
Also with your test build the reboot hang loop was fixed for me.

Just re-read your post pipster, I assumed you were using the addon on a clean system not running the exe. The reg changes are only needed for the addon and I forgot to add a check for this so they were added to the exe

I have 2 little problem..
I created Messenger.exe by using your tool 2 times and tried to install WLM on 2 computers.
Setup it's ok but when I try to start WLM it runs another setup asking me for a file ....7z in the temp folder.
I started the Messenger.exe setup again and then all it's ok. Strange anyway....
The other problem is very strange...
When I rebooted my pc, Windows stop just before logon with this message:

The system is not fully installed. Please run setup again.
--------------------------
When I press OK the computer reboot and this goes in loop.

Anyway everytime I launch the WLM setup created with your tool it change this key in the registry, so I get the Windows error:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\Setup]
"SystemSetupInProgress"=dword:00000000
When it's 0 all goes ok, when it's 1 I get the logon error.
Any idea??
There was a problem with the addon when installing from SVCPack. When installing some 2 of the msi files (Error reporting and WLM) both tried to write to a registry key that they had no permissions for so the installation failed. The solution I used was found on a blog and was used for .net 2.0, I used the same keys, tested it and it worked. I installed it OK and successfully logged in after installation so I left it as it was.
Part of the solution was to change the SystemSetupInProgress value to allow the installation to progress, I have seen this used on other addon previously but after having the same prob as you with the login on one occasion I was dubious about changing it then re.setting it. Now that someone else has tested it and has a problem I have done some more tests and have found that the change is not necessary so I have removed it. I have attached a link to a test build that does not change the SystemSetupInProgress value so the logon problem won't happen again.
The other problem sounds like the msi self heal function kicking in as it finds file(s) missing and the temp installer is not there to fix it. I don't know why this is happening as I can't replicate the problem. Do you use the English version or your native language?, just wondering if it could be lang related.

Still buggy.
Destination is now set correct, but Addon-Creation fails.
entries.ini and svcpack are created, but then program stops without notice.
There was a problem with the program looking for 7z in the wrong place. I have it on my machine which is why it works

Hi StonerCould you write it so you can choose to make an addon instead of an SFX installer m8 give folks the options of which one to use? Personally I love the SFX version works very well with the WPI.I could look into that. thnx4thepen has reported back and adding the line referenced by mickmack didn't work so I am at a loss.
Hi maraHey benners,I just tested your tool on Vista x64 Ultimate and sadly it does not work. When I pressed start, nothing happened (ini is present ad processed) and after that I cant close program, it's like it stuck in some loop, or you blocked window with some flags. Here is the log:

It stops when it tries to export the registry entry using reg.exe. I am going to look at installing some 64bit OS in a VM to see if I can improve it. I normally only support 32bit apps due to lack of free hardware to test on. Thanks for the offer.

I try to use the switchless SFX to create a cab file to use like addon with nLite, but not install WLM2009.
Why?
The program will only create an exe not a cab file. You can use the settings to create a total silent install then I think you can use nlite to add it to the RunOnceEx section?, not really sure, or you could create an addon. There is a link here to a program that may be effective in creating the addon for you.

HKCU key not being written via unattend

I had some time to have a play and it seems your suspicions were correct. I made a script that wrote to the registry, checked the write was successfull then read and logged the key to a file.
The Flag was changed to the dword value of 43 but shortly after was updated to 71. The mini setup as you call it that configures the desktop settings also configures some IE settings, this is just after Windows Media Player in the dialog box.
My suggestion would be to write a batch file that adds the key and then deletes itself. Copy this to the Startup folder.
