  1. I can't explain why but after i integrated all of April 2007's hotfixes the problem does not return in windows explorer in M$ Virtual Console 2007 Beta. I guess i will just have to reinstall. Thanks for all you help though.
  2. That's a weird one. I haven't ever lost any of the drive mappings, they only return the "full path name".
  3. NP about the long story. As far as i am concerned the more info everyone provides the better. I also believe that this is NOT caused by nLite but rather by a hotfix from Jan or Feb. The only problem is that an earlier build(unattended) of mine is running on another PC at my home. That machine is up to date on all hotfixes but does not have this problem. The only difference is that it has updates run through windows up since about Sept 2006 and my newer builds have everything integrated.
  4. Anyone have a solution for this problem? I thought i had it resolved by following the directions here but it came back after a few days. Originally this was being caused by a hotfix realeased sometime around Nov 2006 i think. I am not using that hotfix anymore and the problem returned in Feb 2007. thanks.
  5. Possible Fix found here on this forum: http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=80850 ;Disable: Restoring Mapped Network Drives On Logon [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\NetworkProvider] "RestoreConnection"=- **EDIT** 03/30/07 Didn't work on my test machine.
  6. I was able to solve(work around?) this problem. I actually fixed it and test it on 2 different machines. Both Winxp SP2 Pro Corp. One on a real machine and the other in virtual machine 2007 when researching on how to resolve this problem: Internet Explorer This page has an unspecified potential security risk. Would you like to continue? http://mygreenpaste.blogspot.com/2007/01/u...urity-risk.html (follow instructions in the comment dated 01/19/2007) I know it has nothing to do with nLite becasue the virtual machine session had no tweaks at all. I only intergraded hotfixes and a few .cab files (WMP v11 & Directx). Hope this helps! **EDIT** 03/26/07 This worked for 2 days only It's back to resetting the name of the mapped drive to the full path.
  7. Same here. Never had this problem until v1.3.0.4 Final.
  8. Never mind what I said. I had to put "WindowsInstaller-KB893803-x86.exe" back into integration. At this time it seems that the problem has resolved itself. I didn't do anything different. But for the first time I am getting a box about system restore being turned half way through the setup. Is that even an option in nlite? I am going to do it again without integrating these 2 hotfixes. Update for DRM-enabled Media Players WindowsMedia-KB891122-x86-ENU.exe Security Update For Windows Media Player Plug-in WindowsMedia-KB911564-x86-ENU.exe rmtiel, i was missing those also.
  9. Yeah i had a feeling. I forgot about this page that has all the info. Thanks for the help.
  10. I was also having issues with Windows Installer v3.1 (v2). It was not integrating(?)(but no error msg) and always failed manual install or windows update install with an "Access is denied" error. I wasn't having this problem last month or before nlite v1.2.1. I thought maybe it was either related to the new version of nlite or Nov '06 hotfixes. As it turns out I was integrating (v1) & (v2) of Windows Installer v3.1 as far as I can tell. When I removed (v1) from the list of hotfixes the problem has now been corrected and windows update works fine without prompting me to install Windows Installer v3.1 (v2). Hope that helps. WindowsInstaller-KB893803-x86.exe <---Hotfix removed. I am also going through all my hotfixes to see if any are not needed. I have about 93 but running a "plain" copy of Winxp Pro SP2 Corp against windows update shows I should only need around 70. PS GREAT WORK WITH NLITE OS!!!
