  1. What is the best way to *silently* make Thunderbird the default email client? I can silently install it *but* getting it to be the default client is, well, challenging. Outside of all the registry hacks available, what is the best option, the preferred option, the recommended option for silently making Thunderbird the default email client? I am using nlite and although I hesitated at first with it, it really is an awesome application and it has saved me a ton of time. I do not wish to hide the CMD window on first boot up *but* need to know how I can get inside the compressed archive, edit the file inside and either save it back to the archive or how to create a new compatible archive... I just think the NLITE.CMD run at the end can use some polishing with echos, formatting etc. At the moment, it looks like a hack I noticed something at the unattended stage in nlite. If I do not create a user, a new user is created for me no matter what. There is no way to escape that stage of nlite. Why? This honestly makes no sense and so on XPHE during this stage, I created a user with the name Owner, removed the password requirements and disabled the users active status. Is this recommended? The reason I ask about the last is because, nlite has no need to create a user what-so-ever. If my understanding serves me correctly and if a user is not creating a completely and fully automated unattended installation, Windows XP at post-install will ask the user for there logon name. If the power suddenly went out at that point, the user will be given the name of Owner on logon... Why force another name into the installation? I could be wrong... In the end, how do I silently make Thunderbird the default email client, edit the NLITE.CM_ archive so to edit it's contents and why does nlite create the extra user? Thank you very much for looking over my issues. I thank you again for your time!
