thanks guys. so i formatted coz i worry too much lol. i just went into the task manager and 'performed administrative task', is this normal?

Okay, I know that there should only be ONE csrss.exe in the system32 file, right? Well, I did a search of my PC and it came up with a few in winsxs and now one in windows]software distribtion\download... with file names like x86_microsoft-windows-csrss_31bf3856ad364e35_6.0.6001.18000_none_58e3e3d7e415ae4c do i delete these? or are there normal?

OKAY Took my PC in today. Tried the card. Tried another 7600. Tried the 7300. Tried different ram. All of which were unsuccessful. AND by this point I was well over my lunch break. SO I got him to try the Radeon x1950 and it runs perfectly. So 2 and a half hours waiting there, the problem is fixe (so far) Thanks a lot for your help guys

See attachment I went into safe mode > Device Manager and removed it, hoping to reinstall the drivers withough Vista doing it by itself... but they did I dunno what to do now... I tried the CD that came with it, i retried the Vista NVidia drivers...

But what Vista build do you have? 64bit?

go download the latest drivers from Nvidia's site I did I downloaded the 32 Bit vista drivers, then uninstalled my old drivers, reset my PC, installed the new ones which reset my PC and it's still the same... It IS the NVidia 7 Series / 32 Bit Vista drivers, right?

I got the 7600GT Vista 32 bit drivers from the Leadtek site so I don't even know what could be wrong Guess I'll just have to wait till they fix it?

I have 32 bit and have downloaded the4 32 bit drivers too...

Just got a Leadtek A7600GT 256MB AGP, worked fine with XP with the drivers that came with it. Now I'm on Vista and games are looking all.... crappy I'll just use Spider Solitare as an example.... That's just a VERY small sample of it... You should see World Of Warcraft How do you suggest I fix this? Is there a Vista Driver yet? Or anything? lol

It worked So, now I can just delete everything on my D:? Even if it still has Vista on it?

Well Do I just do a clean install of XP on my C:?

Okay I really hope people can understand what I'm trying to explain here... I have 2 hard drives, C and D... I had XP on my C: and when I installed Vista, I put it on my D:... Now I wanna reformat both, and put XP back onto my C:... I just dunno what to do... Do I put in my XP CD, and do a clean install on my C:, then when it's done installing, just delete everything off of my D:?? It's just if I do that, I dunno if it would damage/delete any needed system files, coz technically it would still have Vista installed on it.... PLEASE HELP!!

Me again lol... For some reason, movies played in WMP are now running slow... Like, they stop, then quickly catch up, then it acts all jumpy... It happens on all videos, even ones that were fine before the Vista upgrade...

Okay I got it working!!! I was listening through the headphones, so I decided try my speakers and they worked So I just listen on my headphones through the speakers... I'm guessing there's something wrong with my PC's headphone slot, even thought it was working JUST before installing Vista... Thankyou all SO much for trying to help. It's much appreciated!! B)

^ that link doesn't work I'm playing the music in iTunes, so does that tell you anything? Even thought music/sound doesn't play ANYWHERE And I have Creative SB Audigy... Do they have the RC1 drivers for that yet?

*sigh* I'm just going to get my original driver CD's back from my brother... The whole PC went weird... most programs I had installed had to be REINSTALLED.... Example, iTunes, YIM, MSN, Adobe Reader, Photoshop... They ALL had to be re-installed, even thought they were still on the computer I guess this might be the same type of thing... Thankyou so much for your help!! I'll be back if the original drivers don't work lol

Soundblaster Audigy... I downloaded the Vista Beta drivers from the Creative site, thats what got it playing, but for some reason music still doesn't come from it...
