  1. What I was trying to say was that my mother (not knowing anything about computers) just thought it was a good deal because that's what the commercial told her. I'm saying that in my opinion, Dell takes advantage of people who don't know anything about computers except how to check their e-mail, and sells them a cheap computer knowingly.

Does she ever have any problems checking her email on her cheap computer? If not then I'd call it a deal.

    rofl, owned.

  2. i hate windows vista, mostly because of the performance on my computer.

most of it is eye candy - and the new task manager and shutting down processes process is utterly ridiculous. i tell you now, i won't be moving to vista anytime soon.

  3. ummmm, just gonna throw something out there, but you do realise ftp stands for file transfer protocol? Not being a complete expert on the matter I'm not going to say it's impossible to run forum software or chat room software from an ftp server, but it would probably be better to use an HTTP server that has php and such installed as there is a lot of software that already exists and is freely available then. FTP is really more geared towards storing and retrieving files, not interactive content.

yeah, that's true. it's mostly for hosting and receiving files.

  4. have any of you tried playing Continuum?

the link is to the wikipedia article written by a few players there. all information is on the website.

SubSpace is a two-dimensional space shooter computer game published in 1997 by Virgin Interactive Entertainment (VIE). This freeware game incorporates quasi-realistic zero-friction physics into a massively multiplayer online game. The action is viewed from above, which presents challenges very different from those of a three-dimensional game. The game has no built-in story or set of goals; players may enter a variety of servers, each of which have differing objectives, maps, sounds, and graphics.

Although falling short of modern standards, SubSpace is widely considered an early entry in the massively multiplayer online genre due to its unprecedented player counts, as well as lead programmer Jeff Peterson's apparent coining of the term.

it's now called continuum - evolved from subspace - evolved from sniper (back in 1995). some of you may remember the program, it was quite expensive to play, but now it's free thanks to PriitK and JeffP (Priit K being one of the programmers of KaZzA, Skype and Morpheus.

and please do reply if you do decide to play the game - and give your review on it! download it: Here.
