  2. Hi All I am a newbie and am a little confused about how to use this file. I have downloaded and installed xpize. I then downloaded the Luna Royale from deviant art - unrared it. Put the theme folder contents into c:\windows\resources\themes. Is this correct so far? Okay - on the post, it says the start button should be the coloured one - yet mine is still white! Also - there is an alternative shell.dll file: '- Shellstyle.dll alternative with XPize icon http://pgase.free.fr/Shellstyle.rar' what is this? - how do i use it? Pgase - I admire your attention to detail in your art - most refreshing.
  3. MANDATORY CRITICAL HOTFIXES - May not show up on your configuration! Hi All! Could anyone please explain why these hotfixes are mandatory?, (below). It says "may no show up in your configuration!" Does this mean that they are hidden, or that they are not neccessary for all os setups? (The Registry keys for the GDI detection tool is not present in my regisrty and WU says I am fully up to date- WIN XP Pro SP2 Integrated!) KB885626 -› Your computer stops responding when you restart to complete the installation of Windows XP Service Pack 2 Download -› 459 KB (October 29, 2004) Switches: KB885626.exe /q /n /z -Obviously not necessary for slipstreamed XP cd. KB873374 -› Microsoft GDI+ Detection Tool Download -› 216 KB (September 21, 2004) Switches: KB873374.exe /Q:A /R:N (HALT BOX) import this registry setting instead: REG ADD "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\GdiDetectionTool" /v "GDITool" /t REG_DWORD /d "00000001" /f -Not Present in my registry. Dont't need it? Or is it hidden in some way? Hanza Rodreguez
  4. Hello All, My name is Hanza Rodrequez, And I am relatively new to the forum - so HELLO!!! I have a question about the hotfix list. Is the microsoft security bulletin search: http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/current.aspx More or less the same list as on this thread {when i choose my os - xp pro sp2}? 1. What is the difference in listing between the micosoft listing of hotfixes and the one on this thread? /(granted the switches are also given in this thread). 2. And what about the GDI "MANDATORY" Hotfix - it is nowhere on my configuration. Is it still a critical update, or has it been superceeded? When was the last time Wu demanded that it be installed by anybody - because it is clearly not on my system and MSBA does not list it for my setup - and my sys is up to date! Thankski all! "Hanza the Bonanza" Rodreguez. B)
  5. You have made me curious ryanvm. Does this mean that none of the hotfixes are dependant on previous hotfixes being installed first? And so doeswindows update install them in random order? It is a little confusing to me! What do ya'll think? Hanza.
  6. Hello All! I am relatively new to the forum and would like to say HI! I have been attempting to do an unattended installation and with full hotfix updates in a certain way, but it seems to be taking alot of patience on my part! I have a few questions: 1.On the unattended guide - it says all hotfixes "must be installed in numerical order". Could someone provide a link - to where i could find this instruction in a microsoft knowledgebase article (or help file etc). (I am trying to build up a library of information from the source!). 2. On using windows update - On a fresh install - i get a number of updates say 75% of the final (critical) listed on this website (xp pro sp2 streamed) installed. I then install the optionals - reboot - and hey presto some new critical updates appear! So clearly Windows Update has some sort of order in mind. So my question is - why put wmp 10 silent install at the top of the svcpack.inf file, and then after it start installing WMP 9.0 hotfixes??? I am a little sonfused and have spent some time browsing the forums getting confused! 3. By the way - on the unattended guide - it references HFNetChk. Yet it is unavaliable on the authors website. Furthermore the last release was quite a few years ago. What does this mean? From what i have seen. msfn rocks. My thanks. Hanza Rodreguez!
  7. Xpero! Your Software. Most Impressive. I Like! Am a newbie - and have been having some trouble with understanding how exactly to make the program work - eg. use other themes - etc like the one posted on this forum. Any othe themes avaliable?
