I have XP home on my computer and I want to install XP Pro multilingual in its place. I also need to format the hard drive before I give this computer to a friend. I have removed a number of programs from this computer already and hope I haven't messed things up. I purchased this as an OEM and now i wonder if I also need the regular XP pro in addition to this program. I attempted to boot from the new CD (XP pro) purchased from Newegg as OEM. This is the message that I receive. Windows XP Multilingual User Interface Pack cannot be installed on this platform. What platform are they speaking about. Is the XP Pro MUI all I need or do I need additional programs. I understand that I can not format until I am able to boot on XP Pro.
