Hello, A relative of mine wanted to install a fresh copy of WindowsXP Pro on their AMD Duron 700-800, 256Ram computer. When they brang me the computer, it was obvious why they wanted to a fresh install because the computer was extremely slow and everything was just a mess. When I say slow, slow as in when clicking to open something, it would take long opening or even closing a program in a choppy effect. It was just terrible. We figured a fresh install would fix the computer. From what I understand, a AMD Duron 700-800MHz computer with 256RAM is more then enough to run XP. I went along with the installation. The installation was the longest installation I ever done on a computer. It took forever, about a full day. Finally when the installation was over, the slowness is still there, but just a tiny bit better then before. Now basically its still slow, but with no choppiness, just slow. Just getting into windows now and even before takes forever. I thought a clean install would of fixed the problem, it doesn't look like it. Something is wrong somewhere and I can't figure it out. My sisters computer runs XP on a 700Mhz 128ram with no problems. So with this computer, I thought there wouldnt be any problems at all. I would greatly appreciate some help. Thanks! Note: The installation was done using a Windows XP Pro CD created by nliteos, I believe. I believe the creator of the CD intregrated/streamed alot of drivers into the CD because after I installed windows and logged in, I went into the device manager and everything there was all right. All drivers were already installed, etc. I think perhaps he intregrated more then enough drivers etc for many PCs. Thought I'd add this if this might be a problem. Thanks.
