  1. Thanks XibaD! :thumbup

Exactly what I was looking for! Although, Taskswitch XP doesn't minimize windows to the taskbar, WindowSpace (which was on the same website does...)

Taskswitch XP DOES minimize windows on the tray (I use it for that :) ). Check the options, in the GENERAL OPTIONS, one of the last options is minimize windows in tray with right click on minimize :)

  2. WINXP manager is a utility program found at www.yamicsoft.com/xpmanager

It says it's Windows XP SP3 compatible (x86 I assume), not x64 compatible. x64 libraries require specific x64 patching. By the way, for x86 XP I prefer XPLite, as is also not free software.

U can also use WFPreplace to replace wfp protected files. http://www.bitsum.com/wfpreplace.asp

Yes, but I want to fully disable WFP, like nlite does. But now I don't want to reinstall windows with an nlited copy. It must be some other way.

Anyway, thanks for the help :)

Any more suggestions? I googled but I don't find any specific x64 instructions.

  3. Hi!

I use nlite software quite often to do this, but this time I had to reinstall XP x64 and I was in a hurry and I couldn't nlite the installation (well, yes I could, but I only had SP1, so when I updated to SP2 I lost certain settings).

Now I want to hack my files manually BUT the annoying WFP prevents me from doing that. I erased dllcache, tried registry tweaks and so on, but nothing seems to work. Certain files, like ntoskrnl.exe seems to be restored from original binaries. Could you provide me the exact way to do this in Windows XP x64 as nlite does it? I wouldn't want to re-install again :(

    Thanks for the advice :)

  4. Restorator 2007 is command line and it supports x64 files. Although I have made some modifications for Windows XP x64 and Vista x64 with it (I have converted Vistapack and Vize to Restorator format), I can't know how to program the "patcher" (only did it via .cmd / .bat files).

It works perfectly but It's a little different than reshacker in file formats (and I think it's better) but you can get used to it.

There was another program to edit this files, but I don't remember the name. It was based in Reshacker.

By the way Restorator 2007 IS NOT FREE :(

  5. I think TC is very busy or on vacation now :)

Soon he will come again for sure.

In the meanwhile you can use resources in the present list. It's not fully updated, but you will have to download only a few updates from WU.

    Saludos!

  6. ok, listen man... the bitmap in explorer is certainly changed man, i really changed that f***. :D

so, please check if you have it too man.

and for the timedate.cpl, script is fixed now, but can you check if the language code in the resfiel is correct?

thanx for testing again xibad :D

    damian666

    No It wasn't :D

    You have a PM.

  7. aaah yes... i knew i saw it before :P

i have replaced that bmp though...

    very weird.

    Damian666

Nope, you haven't. Check kontini's post. If you replace the bmp, all is displayed fine. I think the issue was a mismatch in bmp sizes like he says.

And by the way timedate.cpl error is still present in the spanish verision (the two tabs missing in time and date, referred to dialog resources 1 and 10). You have a little error in the script, check SP-timedate.cpl.txt and change language code to 3082. Anyway that correction doesn't change anything, the Vistapack removes that dialogs again. If I update with my fixes of the resources manually, all works perfect. But if I try to reload with Vistapack, it doesn't. I don't understand :(

  8. At least for me, new start button style messes with all skins but Windows XP default one. Quicklaunch is displayed over a part of the skin start button, and you can't move it.

Is there any way to get Vistapack 2.4 again?

    Thanks

P.S. : by the way, the new logos are pretty nice :)

  9. I don't know if this is the correct subforum to post it but... I'm having a little problem recently in Windows XP SP3 with the Silverlight plugin. For some strange reason WU is looping with KB951213. Can you help me?

    Thanks :)

  10. I just tested .NET 3.0 SP1 at T-13 (hadn't done that yet) and it seems MS have fixed the problem with the WebClient service. But there are still quite a few errors in the Event Log so it's better to install it at first user logon. Consequently, .NET 3.5 will have to be installed at first user logon as well.

    Thanks TC!

  11. Well I tried all spanish versions of the update list of the first post (at least the updates which have spanish version) and I get multiple errors. One in text mode (wpdshxr.dll file missing...) and user32.dll registering errors in graphic installation.

XP 64 version I have is english one, but with MUI you can translate to another language. And then the downloaded updates are in your languages. I think I'm staying with english version for now, or at least try to slipstream IE7 in my language, to see if it works...

    Thanks Tomcat76

    EDIT

Ok, with IE7 spanish (& updates) and all the remaininig updates in english, the same wpdshxr.dll error appears. It seems that at this point the script doesn't handle multilanguage IE7 files quite well. Am I wrong?

    EDIT2

The result is that if IE7 is in another language different than english, is NOT slipstreamed.

  12. Maybe stupid quiestion... but are updates in another languages supported as well? (like spanish ones... for example). With english files, all works perfectly.

And, you know if XPIZE would be supported in the future? Would be MUI too?

    Thanks for this script Tomcat76

  13. Slightly updated version. Only run on test systems!

    hfslip-x64-80315aa.zip

Wow, I didn't know you had been working on this project! I'm very interested on it, but.... which are the instructions to make it work? The same as x86 versions?

    Edited by Tomcat76. Link removed.

  14. Nice pack, as usual Damian. But... is it my imagination or the installer has lost the feature to "force reload" files???

    EDIT

timedate.cpl is screwed with this version (2 dialogs missing) and Vistadrive doesn't work fine for me (2 hard drive missing icons in my system).

  15. Hi!

One question about the Silent .NET Maker: are .NET 2.0 SP1 and .NET 3.0 SP1 supported? Which are the steps to follow to create a silent installer fully updated including this 2 new updates?

    Thanks :)

    EDIT

Ok, yesterday It was 3 AM when I posted, and I didn't read that they are not supported yet... Any plans in a near future? Will this updates include the previous ones?

  16. Sorry, but why on earth would one want to have the "Genuine advantage" crap installed????

I just uncheck the box and select "never inform me of this update again" (or similar)

Because I think it's a Windows essential / critical update (at least it shows up in WU disguised that way :D) and it's required to validate some other downloads from M$ website.
