  1. I'll try to be as clear as possible. I'm creating an unattend CD with nLite of WinXP Pro. I am going to use Partition Magic to create and format 7 partitions. (The hard drive is large and is set for dual booting with Linux FC5) I want one partition to contain the system files, another to contain Documents & Settings folder, and another to contain Programs Files folder. and one more to be the Temp folder Based on prior experience, Windows reassignes drive letters when it is reinstalled. How can I get my folders on the partitions i want?
  2. After some poking around, my computer won't pass the POST test. All the fans turn on, hard drives spin, power & activity lights turn on, ethernet lights flicker, etc. but there is no BIOS beep codes or any seemingly responsive output. A computer teacher at school thought it would be the power supply... so any more idea would be appriciated. (I also guess that a mod could move this to hardware forum, as now that seems where the problem lies)
  3. thanks for the fast reply, i have tried booting into safe mode, but after the system file listings the computer hangs for a while and does nothing
  4. My computer has been having the problem of not completing the boot of windows xp. It reaches the black loading screen (with the blue bar that moves back and forth) and reboots itself after the scroller goes around about 3 times. I have already tried restoring the boot informaiton from the installation cd, but that did not solve the problem. it could be a hardware problem, since a couple times when trying to turn it on, only the fans will come on and not load anything. where should i start in looking for this problem(s) ~Skotster
  5. After being annoyed by random IE faults, the system folder automatically opening on startup, and some other problems, I desided it was time for a reformat. This is were the real problem begins, I have just search my computer room in its entirity and cannot find my Windows XP CD. I have found the case with the product # on it, but it was empty. Now in school a friend told me that software is sold by lisences, not by the contents of the cd itself so i could leagally download it, burn it and use that is it true? Is there a better idea (without spending more money on another XP CD and Key?)
  6. A guide should help: http://www.blackviper.com/AskBV/tech10.htm I had the same problem, this will solve you problem, and if you look at some of the other stuff, prevent more problems.
