  1. No, I didnt delete other files. And IE (v ie 6.0.2900.2180) is working OK I rebooted several times, firewall deactivated. Manual Updated (from windows catalog) works fine. Installed KB914388,916595,917159,917537 manually and everything fine. Services are Initiated, so I cant figure out what could be. I hit the download button and the updater just dissappears.
  2. mm So where to aim? if you can guide me, im an average user. What can I do to get more and useful info? Thx takeshi

  4. Hi, I need some help. OS: Win XP Pro SP 2 My HD was full, so I decided to delete some files. Then I deleted all the c:\windows\$....., incluiding $hf_mig$. Result: Auto Update doesnt work any more. I recieve the notifications, but when i click in DOWNLOAD... nothing happens. The shield icon ath the taskbar dissappear and the updates arent installed or even downloaded. I dont know how to repair the auto-update system, maybe downloading it again or something? I dont mind to check all the updates one by one if they are installed or not, but when i DELETED those dirs, i wasnt informed enough. Thanks
