  1. Hi..thanks for the help...I have XP installed on a non raid drive C: I am trying to install XP on a RAID0 set up.....I have tried to install the raid set up but the puter reboots after a BSOD right when it tries to get to my desktop...is it because of some conflict with another OS on the non raid drive? I tried to disconnect the non raid drive before booting up the raid XP but still..no dice...any ideas? Thanks FoxK
  2. Hi all...thanks to all those experts helpin us noobs out Anyway...I have a MB that won't recognize any floppy drives (i think the connector on the MB is spent) so I've had to slipstream my windows XP cd with my Raid drivers (promise 378 raid- fasttx2k.sys) I have this raid setup...2x 80 gb maxtors RAID0, partitioned into D and E and I am trying to get windows XP onto the D: In order to slipstream..i've had to install XP in a non raid format onto my C: drive which is my 3rd drive. Now....using my slipstreamed CD with the fasttx2k driver on it...I got windows installed onto C with no problem...when I try to install windows XP onto my D: drive on the array..here's what happens: I see the fasttrack driver is now being loaded as the install progresses...when asked what partition to put the OS on..both partitions on the array look ok with the correct NTSD format and correct sizes...and with the original C drive with the successful XP disconnected, I see the option to load XP onto my array whcih is now listed as C:)....windows goes great until the very end...when it should go to the final reboot and then open to the desktop...I either 1) see the black screen with the windows logo for a second..then a flash of a BSOD message...then a reboot 2) a reboot just before I should see the black windows log screen Windows now attempts to reboot and i will get to the screen to opt into safe mode, safe mode with command prompt, last known good config etc...but no matter what I choose..i get a reboot Things I tried to remedy: 1) disconnecting the initial C (with the successful XP install) drive that i installed windows on while trying to install XP onto the array 2) made sure that in BIOS...the array is chosen as the boot device (both with the initial ok XP install C drive connected and disconnected I Think my setup is pretty simple..its just a simple slipstreamed CD with 1 driver added and I know its good...as it did install XP onto the initial C drive ANy ideas? Thanks FoxK
