Here is.. Fix Missing files during XP install V2.1

This is a small fix for only a few missing files.

Download here:

File Size: 167 KB (171,806 bytes)

MD5 hash: 20DBE64894D392E1C018E96F26E032F3

Info:

This addon that will fix some error messages about missing files during install of Windows.

A lot of people that use nLite probably one's ore twice encounter the problem with the missing files. After all the time and thinking you final nLite cd is not working correct. I hate when that happens.

If you have really have a lot of files missing (8 ore more i would say) you could better start over again!

Always use original xp sp2 source. Use a clean source every time you make a new nlite cd.

This addon is only to be used as a quick fix so that you dont need to start al over again.

When to use this addon:

If you have 1 ore more files missing that can be fixed by using this addon.

When you run out of time to start al over again.

How to use this addon:

Its best to run this addon after nLite hase done its work.

you have to use RVM Integrator V1.4.x to fix the small problem.

Its easy to use. You can find it here http://www.ryanvm.net/msfn/

screenshot example:

222969_RVM.JPG

This fix will fix the following files:

srgb.icm

streamci.dll

tsbyuv.dll

USBCAMD2.sys

USBCAMD.sys

(You normally can find these files in the driver.cab. This cab is located in: C:\WINDOWS\Driver Cache\i386)

To my opinion these files are rapported to be missing in most cases.

These are save to fix this way. Missing these 5 files is not because a bad source if you ask me. Buy i'm not the expert!

What the fix will do:

1 The fix renames al names of the source files that can be found back in these files: LAYOUT.INF,DRVINDEX.INF,Dosnet.inf and TXTSETUP.SIF

That way Windows setup wont see\ask them any more during installation.

2 Later during install the files that where missing will be added to Windows again. You cant miss those files!

If you get asked about this file: srgb.icm you can find it in %WINDIR%\system32\

A bit info about the missing files:

- srgb.icm (= "sRGB Color Space Profile.icm) ICC profiles for input devices (cameras and scanners) as well as your printer and monitor. HP printers seem to depent a lot on it.

- streamci.dll = A library file used to install media streaming hardware devices. When i did install my sound card the file got asked for.

- USBCAMD2.sys = File description: Toshiba Video Codec, v. 5.1.2600.0

- USBCAMD.sys

- tsbyuv.dll = The library file tsbyuv.dll, is required by windows and is used when working with Toshiba video hardware. If you have Toshiba video hardware and tsbyuv.dll is unavailable, windows will not function correctly.

tsbyuv.dll is flagged as a system process and does not appear to be a security risk. However, removing Toshiba Video Codec Library may adversly impact your system.

Well have a nice day. :thumbup
