I am not using your XPcreate utility to create my CD's.. but I am using it as a reference when i make my own batch files!

Your file uses really complicated structures... it's a nice learning file!

The project is not open source and just because it is in cmd file, does mean you should.are allowed to open it and view its contents (read the EULA when installing/unpacking xpcreate)

First of all:

I didn't see an EULA at all! I extracted it using Winrar. So he should make sure that people don't accidently miss it (which I did). What if I were a big company.. I couldn't possibly know it wasn't free for me!

Second:

If you publish a cmd-file and don't expect people to look in to it.. you're thinking wrong. He could at least convert it to some binary format.

BTW: Still then people should not modify it and redistribute it.. cause I also think that's a no-no!

Third:

I am not sure about this one but you he's bundled a lot of software which he didn't create... is he entitled to license his software? I don't think so.. at least not without the permission of the original creators.

Yes for the changing part I agree, but for viewing it I don't. Also I didn't see his warning-topic before I posted this thread, otherwise I wouldn't have started it obviously.

Look at the included license from BBIE.. it says BBIE may not be distributed under another license. It's included in the package so it should be excluded.

Another thing: If you run CDIMAGE.EXE it states "For Microsoft internal use only", right under the copyright thing.

It is not distributed under another license, it includes the original one. The EULA.txt included in the package applies only to Greenmachines code.

I presume GM has permission. Yet it is a bit open to interpretation if it is actually incorporating if it runs a commandline that starts the program. I'm no expert in that subject. Just presenting my observations.

In my opinion Greenmachine has the right to ask people not to view the source code, yet I admit that I didn't know it was against his wishes for users to view it until this post.

EULA ?!? There was a EULA with this most excellent .cmd file?

I hope GM is ok with what I did.... any lawyering from the EULA about my actions would be appreciated....

I.... copied and modified the "xpcreate.cmd" to "makeiso.cmd"

It does just that... takes the contents of CDROOT (or is that FILESCD) and makes an ISO again... I do this since once all the packing and cabbing and such are finished, I usually am left with a few registry tweaks and a RunOnceEx.cmd or two and why wait for all that packing and cabbing and such again when all I'm doing is editing a text file, adding non slipstreamed programs and making an iso?

Please oh please be ok with this.......

:Edit GreenMachine... maybe make this a standard feature with a command line option to your "xpcreate.cmd" file?
