X-Ecutioner Posted October 21, 2003 Posted October 21, 2003 I have made a somewhat unattended installation of xp pro. Here is the question:Is there a way I can have control of the dos setup stage of the installation and yet still have full unattended setup in the gui? I want this because just incase I want to change the partition or format it differently or any other thing that may come up. Is this possible?Thanksbtw: I fully commend all of you who have helped people like me to finally have control over the installation of xp. You guys are the greatest!
Aaron Posted October 22, 2003 Posted October 22, 2003 [Data] AutoPartition=0[unattended] Repartition=NoAdd those to get the option to format/partion. But first you have to delete a partition to be asked this. It shouldn't be too much of a problem because it recreates it the same size again.
X-Ecutioner Posted October 22, 2003 Author Posted October 22, 2003 Thanks a lot. Also I have had no luck in editing the 3 files with UltraEdit to make custom boot location. I can edit the txtsetup.sif fine but the other files like i think setupdlr.bin and the two others are all encripted code and I cant edit them. Could you or anyone else give me a little help in this area?
eXPerience-XP Posted October 22, 2003 Posted October 22, 2003 they r not encrypted use a hex editor and use the find option type in i386 and u should find it
X-Ecutioner Posted October 22, 2003 Author Posted October 22, 2003 Thanks again but I found out why I couldn't find the I386 value. It was because I was changing an existing set of files and that person had already changed the values in the file. Thanks again
