I had a go at creating an unattended XP install today, using the tutorial on this site. My first try has ended in failure however, and I don't know enough about this to find out what I did wrong, so I'm hoping someone will be willing to help me. The setup works fine at first, but after a reboot, when it loads the graphical part of the setup, it just crashes and reboots my computer, loads up to the same point and crashes again, etc.

Here's what I did to create my faulty CD:

I started out with an SP1 CD, copied its contents to my hard drive.

I slipstreamed SP2 and a load of post-SP2 updates.

I added a winnt.sif file with the wizard for creating the answer file, then added the following:

[Data]
AutoPartition=0

[Unattended]
ProgramFilesDir="D:\Program Files"
CommonProgramFilesDir="D:\Program Files\Common Files"
FileSystem=*

[GuiRunOnce]
%systemdrive%\Install\install.bat

I put some application setups in the $OEM$ folder that are executed by install.bat. I tested that entire setup on an installed XP-installation and it worked fine.

That's basically all I did. I thought I was keeping it simple, but I still messed up. Can anyone tell me what I did wrong?
