scorpi069 Posted May 21, 2007 Posted May 21, 2007 Can someone provide any ideas to my problem.I have a Win 2003 server with two nics. 1st nic is connectted to internet as follows ( IP. 10.200.3.100, SM. 255.255.255.0, GW 10.200.3.1) and second card is to connected to my internal network (IP. 192.168.0.10, SM 255.255.255.0; GW. 192.168.0.1) As it is I cannot connect to internet unless I remove my internal gateway but when I do that I cannot route internally. If I remove my external gateway (internet Nic) obviously I can not get to the internet. How can I resolve this issue. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Mijzelf Posted May 21, 2007 Posted May 21, 2007 Can't you just give the internal route a higher metric?
fizban2 Posted May 21, 2007 Posted May 21, 2007 do you have any kind of NAT setup? that should care of routing issues on the network
cluberti Posted May 21, 2007 Posted May 21, 2007 You cannot have multiple gateways if a machine is used for routing. You should configure a GW only on the external interface, and configure everything else using the ICS wizard, or install RRAS. Windows does NOT like multiple gateways.
