I have some *.wri files that were created using Word for Windows 6.0. Is there any way to convert these files so that I can open them with MS Word 2002?

The converter is part of MS Office. You need to go to control panel, Add Remove Programs, click on Microsoft Office. Then, select to add or remove components. Go through the options and you should see one for Converters and Filters. There should be an option for Word 6.0 documents.

Also, you don't need Office converter. Open WordPad from Windows XP. It can open .wri files. Then just copy and paste into Word and save as .doc instead of .wri.
