software to monitor HD activity

I seem to have quite a bit of HD activity when idle. I've closed pretty much everything but the OS and services. Does anyone know of a piece of software that can monitor HD activity and potentially even show the exes that are reading/writing to disc? Something akin to process explorer for HD activity would be great.
