WMP 11 crashes my machine

Hi,

I recently tries to install WMP 11. The insatallation started normally and it progressed to the "installing user mode framework" (or something along those lines) when suddenly my machine crashed. I didn't get a BSOD or nothing. It just rebooted. After the restart I tried installing it again but the same thing happened. I then tried to use the system restore point that the installer creates to restore my machine but it crashed during that as well.

After all this I keep getting frequent random crashes when I try to launch apps that worked fine before. It seems to me that part of WMP 11 was installed and it is doing something funky to my machine. There is no entries in "Add/Remove programs", so how do I get rid of this.
