Tracking revisions

Hi

I am having difficulty trying to mark on the document itself, that has been through various revisions, the actual progress of the revision numbers, beside the revised section of text. i.e what would work is if in the track changes section, once the changes have been accepted that a number matching the relavant revision could be displayed and retained through the life of the document or removed at the discression of the document owner as track changes does.

If anyone knows how to do this, your help would be much appreciated
