Guest ishitanig Posted April 14, 2007 Posted April 14, 2007 If anyone can shine some light on my problem.Last year the company bought a Windows 2003 Standard R2 x64 server (oem version, non branded)We never actually installed or used the Windows server, it was being used as a Linux box. However, we are migrating to a new business management package that only runs under Windows Server, no linuxAs usual, the former tech guy lost all the installation cds and so on.Now I am stuck trying to install he 2003 server based on the serial number on the sticker. It seems that the OEM key (on the sticker) does not work with the Retail and Corporate versions (the only cds that i was able to get my hands on)Does anyone have any idea on how to install it or how modify the retail or corporate cds to take the OEM key?I tried to contact the OEM supplier, but as usual they put the blame on the former tech guy for losing the cds, and cannot helpIf anyone can help, I would really appreciateThe sticker is for a Windows 2003 Standard Server R2 x64, and it says OEM on the sticker, but the computer is a white box machine.Thank you
cluberti Posted April 14, 2007 Posted April 14, 2007 If you can prove you have the COA sticker (which, if you have the serial, it sounds like you do), you can contact Microsoft to send you a replacement. You'll likely pay for shipping, but otherwise media should be easy to acquire.
