K-Dubb Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 (edited) The files in question are:Instsrv.exeSrvany.exeSrvinstw.exeThese are found in the Windows 2000 resource kit I believe, and 2 of them are found in the 2003 Resource Kit. I cannot seem to find one download from Microsoft that has all of these files, or even the Srvinstw.exe. How can I find out if I can provide these to customers, or if that would violate Microsoft's agreement? Thanks for any help! Edited March 21, 2007 by K-Dubb
cluberti Posted March 22, 2007 Posted March 22, 2007 You can't technically redistribute any of those files, unless the person receiving the files also has the resource kit (the full retail kit, not the downloadable kit). They're fine for personal use, or use within your company, but you can't give them out to "the public" for sale or otherwise - you'll have to actually write your own service if you need to use one. I suppose one way around it would be to tell your customers to go and download the files themselves, but you'll be out of luck if those ever disappear off of the microsoft.com site.
